BCANDS is inviting interested individuals to participate in our COVID-19 focus group sessions! BCANDS will be conducting a total of 13 focus groups: One focus group per province except Yukon and Prince Edward Island One National focus group for community workers or service providers in First Nations communities... One National focus group for community workers or service providers in Urban or Off-First Nations communities, including Inuit and Métis communities These community-led conversations will provide an in-depth understanding and aims to identify current barriers, needs, and priorities of Indigenous Individuals with a Disability and their families during COVID-19. The insights gathered through the National survey or Focus groups will be shared with communities (upon request) and will help inform current government polices, produce valuable and supportive resources, and raise the voices of Indigenous Peoples and families living with disabilities. The BCANDS Indigenous Partnership Award is presented to individuals or organizations who have demonstrated their sincere commitment to improving the conditions experienced within the Indigenous disability sector. Molly received her award on November 8th, 2016 during the celebration of BCANDS 25th anniversary and the 2nd anniversary of Aboriginal Disabili...ty Awareness Month being proclaimed in British Columbia.
