It's bad when you're dreaming about chasing muleys in November and it's only may.

Water time! Nothing like finally hitting the road and some much needed hydration after a pack out. I'll admit 6 people makes an elk pack out much easier, but everyone was worn out from huge hikes the day before. It turns out we were all hiking out in the dark with headlamps and cell phone lights. We had elk action and stories to tell back at camp, and we didn't arrive back till after 1 am. The one that got away. Me and Jordan are set on getting a bull with the bow and getting a kill on camera. This spot n stalk bull gave us a perfect opportunity to do both, but the wind switched mid stalk with my bow and he bailed on us. The next day I lost my quiver with all my arrows/broadheads in the nastiest of hike outs in the dark. By the time I realized it was too late to go back for them. I switched back to the rifle for the rest of the hunt but I'll be back at with the bow again next year.

One of the bulls that got away. We had him screaming in close in the timber after this but we bumped his cows and he never came out and challenged us.
