It has been just over a week since two fires above our facility left our lab with significant water and smoke damage. Our team hit the ground running, meeting the morning after the fires ready to brainstorm and produce solutions. We are making great strides in recovering our equipment and relocating. We want to thank our community for the continued support in these difficult times and we look forward to seeing you all again in the near future. We will continue to update as we have more news to share! Below is our team meeting up at the Discovery Passage Aquarium's Explorer Lab. Thank you very much DPA for sharing your space with us during this difficult time!

The Quatsino Cave amphipod, which resemble shrimp and is the size of a pencil eraser, has only been found in the clear waters of karst caves from Vancouver Island to southeastern Alaska, beneath old-growth forests.
