It’s rare these days to find a combination of great people, great service and great product. BCebike is one of these rarities. I recently purchased a Stunner X and I am over the top thrilled with the bike. Chris and Rob were great and made the experience fun. My Stunner X is a beast as my ebike friends call it as it performs or should I say outperforms all the other bikes I’ve ridden with. I’ve had several people want to know where I got my bike and want to take a picture of it. Most of all the bike is just plain out FUN to ride. Hi Everyone, We just wanted to reach out and provide the opportunity to have your wonderful Dost E-bike "Toned Down" if you would like increased range and decreased speed. Sam and Gordon at Dost have come up with a brilliant plan to help make "everyone" happy with the speed and battery consumption. New Pedal Assist Settings (PAS)... The new PAS software update will give you the option of using 9 or 5 levels of Pedal Assist. The odd levels of assist will be speed set at approx 16km, 20km, 24km, 28km, 32km and power/current output modified to increase the level of current/power with each increasing level of assist. (PAS=1,3,5,7,9) The even levels of assist will be power/current output modified, but the speed will still be set to 32km. (PAS=2,4,6,8) so in the lower PAS setting you can work a bit harder and extend the battery range. Display Setting-PAS 9 vs 5 So...you now have options: You can select 9 levels of assist and choose between the various speed and power arrangements OR.... you can choose to have 5 levels of pedal assist. This will use the odd numbered pedal assist levels, PAS=1,3,5,7,9. This means you will have increasing speed limits at each level of assistance as well as increasing degrees of "power/current". This will make the bike similar to many e-bike PAS systems you may have tried in the past. This will also provide an increase in range for the battery per charge. This is a relatively quick and easy fix, taking approx 5 min using a USB cable, software, and a laptop. We are offering this service for free at BCebike. We understand that it may not be feasible to bring your bike into the Nanaimo store. To the best of my knowledge, Sam is working on getting a kit together that Dost owners can borrow to make the changes themselves. I believe Sam will be announcing this soon. I have tried out the new setting and I really like how they feel. Let us know if you want to bring in your Dost and we can make the changes. For you speed demons.....Rock on! No changes necessary.
