BC Field Trips

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our first-ever virtual BC Field Trip Fair! We were excited to engage with new teachers from Vancouver Island, the Interior and the Kootenays as well as many familiar faces here in the Lower Mainland. Below is the list of bursary winners who will each have $100 to use towards programming at their matching partner field trip site. Congratulations to all!

The hours are counting down on 2020, but there's still time to participate in our online Holiday Event! We have $5000 in bursaries to give away for community programs from our partners, many accessible for the first time to teachers all around the province. The BC Field Trip Fair 2020 - Happy Holidays Online Edition is now live! We invite teachers to set aside time this month (yep, you get the whole month) to explore the updated website and enter to win one of over fifty $100 field trip bursaries. That's over $5000 in bursaries to be won! New delivery modes mean programs are no longer limited by geography and there is amazing content to support your classroom-based instruction! One more sleep! Our Happy Holidays online scavenger hunt starts tomorrow. This is our chance to give back to our amazing teacher community with over $5000 in field trip bursaries and also support our community partners who continue to offer amazing learning experiences in new and improved forms. No golf pencil required to fill out this year's ballots. You'll have the whole month of December to explore the BC Field Trips website and make your choices! It's detour time for the BC Field Trips bus! While teachers take a well-deserved break, we are working behind the scenes to update the website so it will better support teachers to find meaningful community experiences in these changing times. Bad news? 1. No in-person BC Field Trip Fair in September this year. We will miss you all! 2. You'll need to wait until later in August / early September to see all the changes as our partners need time to update their program offerin...gs. Good news? 1. You'll be able to search the website for a much bigger range of ways to support your curriculum and instruction. 2. Many of our field trip partners are amazing innovators who have fantastic resources and opportunities ready for you. 3. While bus bursaries are on pause, we will still be giving away access to programs and resources to support your classroom! Done and dusted! Thanks to the team at the Orpheum for an amazing venue and the exhibitors who talked non-stop for three hours to over 400 teacher guests! Exhibitors will contact field trip winners directly and the cheques for bus bursaries are in the mail today!

Welcome to the new school year teachers, students and parents! Two weeks from today we'll do our annual 'show and tell' of all the great community-based learning opportunities at the 17th annual BC Field Trip Fair for Educators held this year at the beautiful Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver. All teachers, teacher candidates and home educating parents are welcome to join us. Plan your year, talk with educators who offer programs, enjoy some snack and win some prizes!
