Our own Dave Rogers, a member of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club of Vancouver Island, has been doing his part to help those with disabilities. He is currently p...ictured on the Victoria Disability Resource Centre website where they talk about accessible permits for motorcycle riders. "Life changes. Just because you may lack an ability or have an injury doesn't mean you can't get out there and enjoy life," Dave Rogers. See more

BC Hazmat, one of the few response companies with a fleet of stocked and prepared emergency response vehicles and trailers, ready to go at a moments notice
Have you met our President and senior trainer, Dave Rogers. The fellow knows safety, knows spills and knows how to protect the environment. Go ahead and read his bio on our website. https://bchazmat.com/contact/our-staff/david-rogers-ba-mba/
Why do your employees need spill training? A great question. Because you can help protect the environment, protect the safety of your staff/customers and possibly save a bundle by not having to call us out or have us do as much work. NOT how it's done pictured below...
Did you know part of BC Hazmat's community engagement program includes supporting the WIN- Victoria Women In Need Community Cooperative and donating staff and equipment for various events, supplying the Tom Thumb cars.
Spill training happening this week. Who better to get spill training from than the folks that actually clean-up spills (leaks, gas and other ugly stuff...)
Many people think BC Hazmat is just a response company when it comes to the environment. Although we certainly do handle responses and try to get them cleared before any serious damage to the environment occurs, we also teach environmental stewardship. During many of our training courses, students will learn about reclamation projects, environmental protection success stories and ways they can protect the environment. We are not just a reactive company, but as we live on this earth to, we are very proactive.
TDG Course happening now. (Transportation of dangerous goods). We teach it, consult regarding it, both sell special packaging and labels as well as do the detailed packaging for customers and of course, if an accident happens when a dangerous good is being transported...we respond to make the area safe and clean again. BC Hazmat Management, your one-stop TDG specialists!
Lots of FIT testing going on this week. If you wear a mask (respirator) for work, make sure you have a valid FIT test. BC Hazmat can do them at our facility or travel to your company for small groups. Call 250-656-3382 to learn more
Looking for something exciting and different? Join BC Hazmat as a hazmat technician. Visit our careers page to learn more.
We are proud to help bring this key safety event to the South Island. We are already getting bookings for the after conference training as well!
Recently BC Hazmat staff responded to a sharps (needle) clearing call. Unfortunately, the company that had needles dumped on their property ( no fault of there's) felt, at first, they could send out their own staff to clean-up. The result was an employee getting injured. Yes, there is a charge for us to come out but the costs to the employee and the company are now far greater than anything we charge. PLEASE, people either call us out or make darn sure your staff has the corr...ect training and equipment to handle this or any hazardous situation. We can also assist with the training. If someone is injured (and it happens often) and you as an employer haven't done your due diligence, it will cost so much more down the road. It isn't worth the safety of your employees to "try" and save a few dollars and frankly, doesn't make good business sense either. See more
Some exciting news! BC Hazmat Management is honored to be a finalist for the Better Business Bureau serving Vancouver Island in the community service category. We are proud to help support the communities where we live and work (and protect).
The kids are back in school, perhaps you should be too!
Does your business need safety consulting services? Work with the folks that actually respond to emergencies. BC Hazmat consultants and trainers are all experienced.
Are you a retailer? Let us customize and teach a private course to your team. WHMIS, SPILL and more if required.
Do you know the difference between Canadian, international, land, air and courier service regulations? Each may have something you need to know. Take a Transportation of Dangerous Goods course ( TDG )
Thank you Canada Post
Well done Cranbrook. Safety training works. Make sure your staff has the required training they need. BC Hazmat Management can help with that.
If you see or hear something suspicious in your neighborhood, report it. These new drugs are far too dangerous to not take the precaution.
Congrats to the Alberta government for working on this. BC Hazmat Management created and updates our own standard operating procedures for dealing with fentanyl contaminated sites on a regular basis. This is, unfortunately, something we deal with in "the line of duty." We'd be pleased to work with the BC government, using our direct experience, on setting official standards for our province.
Are you in construction? Do you have an emergency response spill trailer that you can take to your different job sites? If not we can help with that. We build custom response trailers. Better to clean up the spills quickly than deal with the fines and environmental damage after the fact.
We are looking for someone who knows what is wrong this picture. Come and help us teach the masses how to be safe at work... https://bchazmat.com/about-us/careers/
Have you secured your spot in the Asbestos inspector, worker or supervisor courses happening this October. Hurry before they are all sold out!
Is your company prepared to handle an Accident Investigation? What about doing risk assessments? We can teach you and your staff. Give us a call 250-656-3382
We want you...if you have the right stuff and qualifications, BC Hazmat Management has a new job posting for a Hazmat Technician.
BC Hazmat Management is proud to be a sponsor of the South Island Safety Conference. Check out the after conference training and call us to learn more. 250-656-3382
