To continue in the spirit of World Mental Health Day, the province has announced that they will be providing funding for addictions and mental health programs. The provincial government is providing just over $300,000 in funding to improve mental health services in Brantford, Brant County and Six Nations of the Grand River. Of that amount, the Brant Community Healthcare System is getting $160,000 to fund nurse practitioners for detox and withdrawal management services.
