If only we took the advice from the Quran during these times of turmoil. O believers! Do not insult what they invoke besides Allah or they will insult Allah spitefully out of ignorance. [Quran Chapter 6 Verse 108] This teaches us that even if something is regarded as freedom of speech, insulting what others hold sacred is detrimental to all.... Islam denounces all forms of violence and our hearts go out to everyone caught up in the senseless violence. When people mock and ridicule black people we call it racism. When people mock and ridicule Jewish people we call it anti semitism. When people mock and ridicule women we call it sexism. When people mock and ridicule Muslims we call it freedom of speech.
