Masks provide an extra layer of protection to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Dr. Bonnie Henry recommends wearing a mask in indoor public spaces like taking transit, getting a haircut, or grocery shopping. Remember: wearing a mask should be combined with other important preventative measures. Stay home if you're sick, wash your hands, and maintain safe, physical distancing from people outside your safe six. We must remain vigilant to protect ourselves and others. This fall, when you see people outside your household bubble, stick to six. Choose about six people that your family will see regularly, who also choose to see you regularly. When we #StickWithSix the same six we keep our schools, our workplaces, and our loved ones safe. In personal settings when you're seeing friends and family who aren't in your bubble: Only get together in small groups of 2 to 6 people ... Maintain your physical distance with those outside your bubble and limit your time together Stay home and away from others if you have cold or flu-like symptoms Take extra precautions for those at higher risk for serious illness from COVID-19, including older people and those with chronic health conditions See more

Government of British Columbia 27.08.2020

Help keep yourself and others safe this Thanksgiving. If you do plan to host an indoor visit with people outside of your household, here are some simple tips to host a safer celebration for everyone. Keep it small and within your safe six. That's up to six people your household will choose to socialize with this fall. Make sure you have a place for guests to wash their hands... Check in with guests before they arrive to make sure that they feel well, don’t have symptoms, and haven't been around a confirmed case Encourage non-contact greetings like elbow bumps, waves, or air hugs If indoors, visit in larger rooms so people can sit or stand farther apart Choose spaces with lots of fresh air. Open windows if you can. Limit your time indoors together If you provide food, try to limit crowding and sharing Keep music low to prevent loud talking or shouting For more tips, visit the BC Centre for Disease Control: http://www.bccdc.ca//social-interactions/safer-celebrations

Social gatherings in private homes are now limited to your immediate householdthe people who live in your home plus a maximum of six other people. This is a province-wide order that applies to all homes for all occasions. Similar to what happened this summer with vacation homes and rentals, we have seen a notable increase in new cases and transmission of COVID-19 as a direct result of social gatherings in private homes. Remember, when we come together with family and friend...s, we bring our risks with us and, in turn, they take those risks back home with them again. This is a critical time. We’re heading into cold and influenza season, and COVID-19 is still in our communities. The choices we make over the coming weeks will make a difference and will support our business and schools to stay open. Let’s choose to protect our communities and the ones we care for most. The order will be posted online in full detail in the coming days here: https://www.gov.bc.ca/phoguidance

This fall and winter, we will face two health challenges: the usual cold and flu season and COVID-19. That means we need to do our part now to keep our communities and people healthy. Taking a few minutes to get your flu shot helps reduce the strain on our health-care system, protects you and the people around you. Cleaning your hands is an important way to help everyone stay safe and healthy. Schools have handwashing stations and hand sanitizer for students and staff. Soap and water work to remove germs from hands. Wash hands, up to wrists, for at least 20 seconds in warm water. Alcohol-based sanitizer acts by removing certain germs on the skin. Use one made with at least 60% alcohol when you don't have access to soap and running water. Use enough to cover your hands and rub until ...they're dry. Learn more: http://backtoschool.gov.bc.ca/
