Skittles is a beautiful girl who is looking for her retirement home. She isn't fond of other furry creatures, but is alright with children. She is 11 years young, but you wouldn't know it by looking at her. She is very sweet and affectionate, and still quite agile! She is booked in for a dental with a couple extractions in April, but we are hoping to find that special family to take her home before then as a Foster-to-Adopt situation. She is early kidney disease which is bein...g managed with a veterinary diet, otherwise she is in great shape! We haven't had any interest in her, which is unfortunate, she is a gem! We are doing some spring cleaning and need some room in the shelter, we have lots of extra dog crates to sell as well as some other used dog and cat supplies. Our big lovebug Hobbes is now ready to find love! Start the New Year off right by adopting this sweetheart! Cuddly Handsome Indoor Only ... Fetches Special Needs Needs a loving home Hobbes is FIV positive, meaning his immune system is forever compromised making him more susceptible to illnesses. He came in with upper respiratory infection which took a long time and lots of antibiotics. He will never be perfect, but he is active and very playful, and has the all clear for adoption. Sorry, no other animals in the home for this guy. He would greatly benefit from a Catio. If he checks the boxes for what you are looking for, please reach out for more information. We are closed tomorrow, but reopen Saturday and again on Monday.

What a year 2020 has been! We have adopted out 249 animals this year! We hope next year gets better for everyone, Happy New Year!! Merry Christmas everyone! We are now closed until Monday for a much needed rest. Thankfully we only have a few animals in care, so our part time staff can enjoy a bit of a holiday as well. However, the 24hr Vet Hospital in Nanaimo is a...vailable to see the emergent cases. Hobbes is enjoying being closed to the public haha, he is temporarily our office kitty. He is feeling better, almost 100%. Hobbes and our staff want to wish everyone a safe and happy holidays, we look forward to a better year to come in 2021.

Hey!!! I'm Gizmo and I am looking for a new home at the spca. I am looking to take over your house and need a family who will give me love and a nice comfy bed, hopefully with a window view. I don't like sharing my space with other pets, but i would be ok with human pets as long as they are older. I would enjoy sleeping at the end of the bed, and perhaps get a snuggle in. I am also an explorer, and i would like to continue to be allowed outside if its safe for me. Izzy is still awaiting a loving home of her very own! Izzy is not fond of other cats and prefers to be the queen of her castle, she hasnt reacted negatively towards dogs but we feel less stress is better for her. Izzy is around 3 years old, she is very sweet and loves her people. A good chin scratch goes a long way to put you in her good books :). Izzy was brought in as a stray with ID that we were unable to trace back to an owner, please make sure your animals have permanent ID that is up to date!! Izzy is on a diet for food allergies and will need flea control on a regular basis for her flea allergy. This is a fairly inexpensive diet and flea products are also quite cheap, so please dont let that deter you from adopting. She is a beautiful girl and deserves the very best!

Cuddle bug alert! Miss Mia is a super friendly fluffball looking for love! Parlez vous francais? This beauty had french owners from Quebec whom couldn't take mia back due to change in circumstances. She knows french and may need an introduction to some english. This beauty wont last long, submit an application if interested in our girl.
