Adoption update time ! Marley was adopted back in November and she has an update for you! "Hi there, it's been a few months but I wanted to let you know I am in the most loving home. My name is Mello now. I tolerate my sister (she's a dog ) most of the time but when she gets too excited I let her know she needs to calm down. I love to sit in my perch in the window and watch the birds When my mom comes homes she gives me the best belly rubs. Every morning I have to wake EVERYONE up to remind them to feed me. The staff, Volunteers and the Animals at the Kelowna BC SPCA are Wishing Everyone a Very Merry and Safe Christmas Holiday Season.

Staff were extremely humbled and very thankful for an anonymous donation left at our front door on Remembrance Day While we learned it was in honour of a lost pet, we do not know much else. A wonderful donation of dog and cat toys and a lovely, heartfelt card was gifted to us. We cannot express how much that meant to us, and we are extremely appreciative of your donation, and wish condolences on your cherished pet ... (pictured is Joe, our 14 year old cat who definitely enjoyed some of those cat toys)

Santa checked his list and he checked it twice, and all the animals at the SPCA are nice! We had 2 of Santa's helpers come and deliver some tasty treats for all the animals. Thank you for thinking of the animals over the pawlidays !

Remember Buffy?? Now named Vivie, this kitten truly captured her adopter’s hearts. She was from a litter of 7 kittens surrendered with their mom a few months ago. Vivie now has a new big sister Nera and they get along famously. Feel Good Adoption Update!! For those of you who remember Timothy and Steven, these two shy kittens were transferred into the Kelowna branch in August and were looking for their forever home together. Timothy (black kitten) was shy at first, but did want attention and was easily won over. Steven (orange kitten) was extremely hand shy, and would hiss and run from you whenever you tried to initiate contact. Their guardians communicated that It could not be understated just ...how fearful Steven was with any human interaction and that they figured that would be how he was, so accepted his boundaries. Now, they are happy to report that Steven changed his mind and one day just climbed into their laps and has been relaxed and happy ever since. He even wakes them up at 5:00 am to initiate interaction. They also stated that they have been cat guardians for years, and have never seen a turn around of behaviour this drastic. We are very happy that his family gave these two such a wonderful opportunity at being in their family. Wow! The Pawlidays are here! The animals were treated with a special donation from First Transit Kelowna . They couldn't have a Christmas party this year, so they decided to donate their Christmas party money to the animals at the SPCA ! Thanks everyone from First Transit Kelowna what a thoughtful gift!

Meet Tami!! Tami was found as a young cat on a property out in the Kootenays. She is a very sweet, soft spoken feline who definitely needs a quiet home with no stressful surroundings. Tami might do well with other animals, but young children will stress her out. She plays shy at first, and seeks corners to tuck herself into. Wow what a surprise to see this huge truck pull into our parking lot. Quick Grow Canada and friends got together, in memory of Russell Penner, to support the Kelowna Branch. Meet Grumpy!! Grumpy is anything but! He was transferred from the Kootenays in hopes of finding his forever family. He is a very sweet, mellow guy who is quite soft spoken.
