Pupdate: Thank you to everyone who was willing to give us a home. We have all found our families. Minnie, Blaze, Bean, Pudgie, Hulk, Wonder, and Gamora are happy sweet puppies looking for their forever homes. To learn more about them view their profiles at: https://adopt.spca.bc.ca/type/dog/ . ... Adoption applications can be at: https://spca.bc.ca//dog-adoption-application-north-cariboo/ We often receive an enormous amount of interest for our puppies. We appreciate that there are so many wonderful families willing to give a forever home to a puppy in need. However we always have more great applicants than puppies in a litter.

*Update* We are getting a fridge, thank you!!! Unfortunately, the mini fridge we store our vaccines in has broken. If you have a gently used mini fridge (ideally without a freezer compartment since we don't need it and not having it gives more fridge space) that you would like to donate, it would be greatly appreciated. If so, please call us at 250-562-5511 or email [email protected] so we can arrange a time so that it doesn't have to sit out in the cold (pun totally intended!). Thank you so much for your support!

Senior Dog Saturday This past summer seniors Betsy Bruyere and her husband, Larry Webster, visited the West Vancouver SPCA location looking to fill the gap their dog, Max, had left when he died of cancer last year. They immediately hit it off with Snoop, an eight-year-old Chihuahua mix, who was surrendered to the branch when his guardian was unable to take on his needs following a breakup. Together, they are keeping each other young at heart. Read Snoop's story at: https://spca.bc.ca/news/senior-dog/

For the love of Missy! Missy is such a beautiful, loving girl who will soak in as much attention as you can give. She would love a home where she can lounge and be with her people as much as possible, someone with a gentle way like hers. She is nervous at first but as soon as you give her some pets she melts into your hands for more with her loud thunder purr. We do not know how she would do with other cats or dogs, but she would prefer a calm home where she can be the queen... that she is. She will also need a home that is willing to work on helping Missy lose some of the extra weight she is currently carrying. She has become a staff favourite with her huge moon eyes and loving purr and we are hoping she can finally go to a place she can call home. Missy was surrendered to us due to medical concerns including some vomiting as well as skin issues. After an extensive work-up, the vet believes these may be due to food allergies. Missy is currently on a skin and food sensitivity diet that her home must be willing to continue with. At the end of the food trial that she is currently on (which lasts approximately eight weeks), there are recommendations that the vet may suggest her adopters to follow, but there are no immediate concerns that we have encountered at this time. This beautiful soul needs a home where she can finally relax with someone who will take the time to show her that she is, in fact, home. If Missy seems like the girl for you, please fill out an application online so we can make an appointment for you two to meet! You can find it at the following link: https://spca.bc.ca//cat-adoption-application-north-cariboo/ See more

Did you know that the North Cariboo BC SPCA holds the sheltering contract for the City of Prince George. This means that when an animal is found straying, they are brought to us by Animal Control officers from the City of Prince George. When a stray pet comes in to our care we try our hardest to make them feel safe and comforted while we try and reunite them with their owners. The first thing we do here at the North Cariboo BC SPCA is check to see if they have a microchip or ...other identification. If an animal has no identification or their identification isn’t registered to an owner (sadly this happens a lot), we look through social media posts to see if any animals matching their description have been reported missing by an owner, we crosscheck lost reports that have been filed with us through phone or email and sometimes we post the animal on our Facebook page. Unfortunately, some animals do not get claimed by an owner. If an animal is not claimed within 72 hours we start the process of finding them a loving home. This is just one of the many services that the North Cariboo BC SPCA offers for our community. *Animal not available for adoption

This friendly guy was found out at the jail! Does he look familiar? He is an all black, intact male who is pretty underweight and looks like he's been looking for his home for quite a while. We don't know how he ended up out there, but if you or someone you know is missing an intact male, all black cat around 2 years of age, please contact the local SPCA at 250-562-5511 or [email protected].
