Scarecrow/ Pumpkin People Competition To bring some Agriculture fun to our Fall Festival on October 3rd, we are having a Scarecrow/Pumpkin Person Competition. Come enter our competition and Show off your skills and have some fun doing it. You can advertise your business, or just be silly and give us a laugh. Show us how much you missed the fair this year! This Competition if Free of Charge. What is a Scarecrow?A scarecrow is a decoy or mannequin, often in the shape... of a human. are usually dressed in old clothes and placed in open fields to discourage birds from disturbing and feeding on seed and growing crops. Scarecrows are used across the world by farmers, and are a notable symbols of farms and the countryside in popular culture. What is a Pumpkin Person? A Pumpkin person is basically a scarecrow with a Pumpkin or Squash or Gourd as a head. Theme: Celebrating the Harvest & Our Community Prize: All a Surprise. For the: Best Scarecrow/Pumpkin person, Best over all display, Funniest display or Scarecrow/Pumpkin person, Youngest Scarecrow/Pumpkin person, Oldest Scarecrow/Pumpkin person Rules: 1.Only one entry per person. 2.Scarecrow/Pumpkin person must be secured and all things attached. ( a stake will be provided to attach to on the Fair Grounds.) 3.Scarecrows/Pumpkin people can be any size or shape. 4.All Scarecrows /Pumpkin people must be dressed; no nudity please this is a family event. 5.You can use anything in your display or decorating of your Scarecrow/Pumpkin person. 6. Please fill out the form or send us the info on the form in an email by October 1st, so we can stake out your location to set up. 7. All Scarecrows/Pumpkin people must be at the fair grounds Saturday morning and set up for viewing by 11am, and removed if possible the same day after 6pm. Yum! Pickles! I didn't know today was National Pickle day did you? Oh pickles are a fan favorite here from sliced, speared, diced or whole. Sweet, sour, hot, or deep fried. Static Parade Registration Form What is a Static Parade? To keep consistent with social distancing protocol, the static nature of the parade means attendees will be in their cars ( or can walk in their own social bubble ) and drive along a route that takes them through the different parade floats and displays. If you would like to be part of our Static Parade at the Fall Festival on October 3rd, and advertise your business, or just do it for fun, please fill out the... form or send us the info on the form in an email by October 1st, so we can stake out your location to set up. Western Fair offers Virtual School Ag-Tours September 14-18 The Western Fair Association annually provides thousands of local school children free agriculture tours during the Western Fair. With the recent cancellation of the physical fair due to pandemic restrictions, they are pleased to be offering virtual agriculture education activities for teachers and their students to benefit from in the classroom or through online learning at home.
