Have you read Patrick Lencioni's The Four Obsessions of an Extraordinary Executive? What did you think? Personally, I can't recommend it enough. It is a compelling parable and a quick read. The key message is this: Successful companies share two qualities - they are smart and they are healthy. Most leaders focus on making their organization smarter, but making them healthier can accomplish both. Only the leader can make an organization healthy, as it starts with cohesion on ...the leadership team. For any owner-operator looking to move from Founder-led to Mission-driven, this would be a great place to start. #leadership #SMB #founderledtomissiondriven

This article! If you read one article this week, I suggest you make it this one. "When a conversation seems hard, when it makes you nervous, when you feel at risk or on edge, remember this core lesson: Conversation is always an act of creativity. We don’t have to just be participants in, or victims of, conversations. We can be the makers of the conversations that matter most."... Thank you Fred Dust for framing the conversation in a design-context. This is something every one of us can apply every day at home and at work. I can't wait to pick up your book. #leadership #design #conversations https://bit.ly/37qTHhE

I've been on an employee communication tear lately, but for good reason. Workplace confusion is the gum in the gears of any business - big or small - and it blossoms in the various communication channels your teams use. Especially when remote work removes the cheat code of body language. After all, when an employee is confused about the next move, many will take no move at all. #communication #SMB #businessandmanagement ... https://bit.ly/35LTTZv See more

I was recently speaking to a client about how to educate their staff on choosing the right means of communication for various matters. Then this arrived in my inbox this morning. I had high hopes, but only #5 touches on when Slack is the appropriate tool. Does anyone else have a good guideline to share? #internalcomms #SMB #etiquette ... https://bit.ly/2Uojgdl

If you are a leader struggling to communicate with your team right now, you'll find this a great read. Here are the five key takeaways: 1. Give people what they need, when they need it.... 2. Communicate clearly, simply, frequently. 3. Choose candour over charisma. 4. Revitalize resilience 5. Distill meaning from chaos In my opinion #2 and #3 are the easiest places to get started. https://mck.co/38tb0AN #leadership #SMB #internalcommunications
