Our new Serum I want to help you understand what hyaluronic acid is and the difference between what HA is vs what we have in our anti aging serum which is sodium hyaluronate. What is hyaluronic acid? hyaluronic acid is something our bodies produce naturally which pumps through our cells plumping them.... Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a polysaccharide that can attract up to 1,000 times its weight in water. So its REALLY moisturizing! As we age, the levels of HA in our body diminish, and it can show on our skin by making it drier and more prone to wrinkling. Now we have sodium hyaluronate in our product. Whats the difference? HA is known to have a large molecular weight and therefore does not penetrate the skin A common way to turn pure hyaluronic acid into a useful topical is to extract its sodium salt to get sodium hyaluronate. Sodium hyaluronate is a derivative of HA specifically, its a salt form of HA, Sodium hyaluronate has a lower molecular weight than HA so its more easily absorbed into pores. Sodium hyaluronate has the ability to penetrate into deeper layers of the skin, and also attracts and binds water. This plumps our skin!! I AM SO EXCITED!
