I'm hiring for MyBaby! This is a great career opportunity for those who want to practice infant craniosacral. Listen to the podcast linked here to get a picture of what I'm looking for, and how you can become qualified! There are more babies who need craniosacral than I can possibly help.

Here’s a little teaser of what you’ll learn in Infant Craniosacral Level 1 about toritcollis: When the baby is born with torticollis, their thoracolumbar fascia is contracted on one side. When they have an asymmetrical spine, they have an asymmetrical mouth. You’ll find they have an asymmetrical latch when feeding, or are dominant on one side of their body (seen when crawling with one leg). These babies will look twisted. A car seat can exacerbate the issue. The lack o...f movement when in a car seat will cause muscles on one side to become even weaker, and even stronger on the other. The lack of movement can then lead to a flat-head because gravity works really well! This is something very noticeable to parents, and they’ll bring their baby for treatment once they notice this flat-head. The baby pictured above was refusing to feed on one side. They had had a lip and tongue tie revision to no result. There are a few simple exercises you can give to parents to help them work on this on their own. One of the most important and easiest ones is tummy time. Within tummy time, you want to make sure there is a lot of bilateral movement and leaning in all different directions. Another important suggestion I make to parents is to never leave your kiddo in a car seat when carrying them around. Take them out and carry them! In my office, I worked along this baby’s spine, in their abdomen and diaphragm, and knees and legs. At the 3 month mark, you can see there is a still a slight c-curve, but the progression is amazing. These at-home exercises, combined with craniosacral treatments, are things that I go into greater depth in in the course. It is running again this October-November (October is self-study at your own pace, mandatory attendance dates are in November). In today's blog post, I want to talk about torticollis in infants. Torticollis is a Latin word meaning Twisted Neck. The most noticeable part of a baby that has torticollis is in the neck, when in actuality, the twist of the spine is from top to bottom - head to tailbone. The Good News is: it’s never too late to correct it, it’s never too late to integrate reflexes, it’s never too late to get bodywork! To read the full blog post all about how torticollis develops, ho...w to prevent it, and how we can work on it through bodywork, click here: https://beamescst.com/blog/what-is-torticollis-anyway And if you haven't already, be sure to check out the webinar on "10 Signs a Baby Needs Bodywork" for free on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sB2jgtH6SA #torticollis #craniosacraltherapy #cst #icst #infantcraniosacral #craniosacral #craniosacraltherapist #babybodywork #infantbodywork #fascialrelease #fascia #massagetherapy #rmt #newborn #newparent #torontodoula #doula #torontomidwife #lactactionconsultant #naturopath #parenting #breastfeeding See more
