How It Started vs How It's Going At the turn of the last century, this is how architects envisioned The Toronto Carpet Factory. Much like the original architects of the building who had a vision for what they wanted to build, our Founder and CEO/CTO Dan Armstrong has a vision for how he sees a connected community. ... For the last few decades, The Toronto Carpet Factory has been our home-base in Toronto - the birthplace of Beanfield. Community and connection is at the heart of everything we do here at Beanfield, and Liberty Village is where the dream began. Isn't it so cool to see the evolution of the Toronto Carpet Factory? We're so glad to be a part of this story

Happy Birthday to Beanfield! Today we’re proud to turn 33 and we can't help but looking back at everything we’ve accomplished. Beanfield has grown significantly over the past few years, from our first home in Liberty Village, to expanding our network reach further into the GTA and most recently, Montreal and Ottawa. Our Founder, CEO and CTO, Dan Armstrong, is feeling a little nostalgic looking back as well... "Another year has rolled on past. Even though everything is starting to get back to normal, these past 2 years have made it difficult to get excited about celebrating. Which is sad, because we have accomplished so much!! We have built more Beanfield in the last 3 years than existed in all of our history. When I started Beanfield, this day 33 years ago it was done with a vision to bring the power of computing to small business. At the time, large enterprise’s monopoly on computing was starting to crack with the advent of personal computers and local area networks. I saw this crack and dove in head first. I think it can be said today, all these years later, that we are still true to the original vision - about bringing the magic of technology, and connected communications to as many people as possible. It makes me very proud to see what we’ve accomplished. I am really looking forward over the next few months when we can finally return to normal, and get together in larger groups once again - then we can be nostalgic about celebrating." Thanks to all of our customers and our growing Beanfield family for helping us make Beanfield a success. We can’t wait to see what happens in 2022 and beyond!

This week, our Beanfield crew went on a spooky Ghost Walk tour over at Exhibition Place. Ghost Guy (aka Steve Collie from After Dark Tours) regaled our group with tales of business deals gone bad, war stories and haunted places - including our own Beanfield Centre Here are a few! General Services Building: People constantly hear noises coming from the backroom - door shutting, and the sounds of glasses chinking like there's a ghost party going on! One story from this lo...cation was of a bad business deal where a disagreement turned into quite an unfortunate bloody ending Beanfield Centre: Security guards have reported seeing ghosts walking around at night. Whenever the security guards approach the figure to see who is in the building overnight, POOF they're gone! Maintenance workers in the building have also reported seeing their toolbox move across the floor Horse Palace: Several witnesses have claimed to see a ghost rider and horse trotting around in the arena. In 1996 a police officer, unfortunately, passed away from a heart attack in the Horse Palace. This officer's beloved horse, Billy, died just two weeks later. According to our tour guide, it's believed the ghost of the officer and Billy are still riding and haunting the building. Spooky! Have you ever seen a ghost? Share your story with us in the comments.

We have exciting news! We’re proud to announce that Beanfield has teamed up with stackt to directly support a small business in our community. As a part of their Small Business Program, our grant will provide New Pie Co. with a storefront residency into 2022 ... New Pie Co. is an up-and-coming bakery by Shiela Labo, a Toronto-based dessert maker and baking instructor - forever obsessed with pies (seriously, the most delicious pies) If you've had the chance to follow along with their story via social or their online shop, you'll know they've been seriously growing in popularity and demand. We knew that this Small Business Program would be the perfect opportunity for New Pie Co to expand their market and test out their very first storefront, and we're so excited to see their doors open soon. Head over to stackt on November 5th to welcome New Pie Co! We hear there may be some giveaways happening in-store on opening day to celebrate Read more here on our blog post https://blog.beanfield.com/beanfield-supports-new-pie-co-a/

We believe our communities are only as strong as the people and the businesses that weave them together. As so many small businesses have unfortunately been forced to close their doors over the past year, we are humbled to be able to support one as it reopens. Beanfield is proud to partner with @Stackt Market as part of their Small Business Program to sponsor the residency of Makan Noodle Bar a collaboration between Toronto Chef Trevor Lui & Lion City Restaurant - into 2021.... Makan's OG Singaporean food had become a favourite at #Stackt, but, like so many, was forced to close down in March as the pandemic hit. Beanfield has long likened our customer service to what you receive in the hospitality industry - friendly, personal, and professional, all while serving up a great product. So naturally, it was a fit to support a wonderful small business like Makan. Join us tomorrow, Nov 13th as we celebrate the continuation of Makan's story and support this reopening; an important piece of our #community puzzle. Come grab a bite, and enjoy all there is to do outdoors at #Stackt. See you there! P.S. - we're running a contest in celebration on our instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CHfvjdFBO-U/?igshid=hjads7x1y9co #givingback #smallbusiness #toronto

Today we take a moment of silence for all of the veterans and for the fallen soldiers who have given their lives, not only protecting and serving Canadians, but helping those of other nations. Lest We Forget.
