Bear Creek Angus 02.11.2021

We have 73 replacement heifers for sale on Thursday, April 22nd at cowtown livestock exchange. They’ll be broken into smaller groups, 10-20head. I’m extremely happy with the quality throughout the heifers, a lot of depth in them.

We set a new record for ourselves while weighing the yearling bulls. 100H, the full brother to 100G, weighed 1405lbs, his birthdate is march 27, so shy of a year old yet, and on a growing ration meant to develop bulls that will be kicked out on grass for the summer. He broke the previous record of 88F, a walking herd sire who weighed 1380lbs on his yearling weight. 88F's full brother is also on offer at the sale next friday. If you're wanting structurally correct, excellent footed, big nutted bulls with a ton of performance and grow, you need to check these two guys out. 100G was also the heaviest bull at yearling weight; there's a lot of predictable performance wrapped up in these two bulls.

Here's two exceptional bulls without pictures in the catalog. From the same cow family, 21G's mother is 85G's grandmother. They're both good footed, big boned, heavy muscled hunks of bull with lots of testicle, and angus masculinity. Our videos are made and should be on cattlevids.ca soon. Visits to the ranch are welcome anytime to view the bulls.

We are very excited about our new herdsire from Border Butte Angus: BRDR 299H. We could not find a fault with him and we are excited with the direction he will take our herd.

Walking herd sire at Bear Creek Angus, Eastondale Jackson 63C. We retained a son; WBA 88F, between the two of them they bred the lion's share of our registered cows this summer. Jackson and Stoney Creek bull calves both gained on average 3.2lbs per day this summer and 88F's bull calves on average gained 3.5lbs per day. I'm pretty excited about 88F, he has three full brothers, one selling in the spring, and a calf in the corral and they're extremely consistent, each of them promising herd sires. Picture is off 63C, haven't pictured 88F yet.

Stephen shared a photo of Bear Creek Stoney 32f. Looks like he’s doing well at Standard Hill Angus
