It’s crazy that we as British Columbians don’t have access to sustenance fisheries while open-ocean salmon farms continue carrying on, k...illing off our out-migrating wild salmon. Minister Jonathan Wilkinson there is a clear path forward for sustainability and economic development. It’s called closed containment salmon farming, and on land Everyone, please check out ---> Atlantic Sapphire This is no ma and pop shop, this is $250 million dollars of capital at work, a publicly traded company valued at $700 million dollars, no pilot project, its founded by all ex open-ocean salmon farm types. (they see the current technology is dated, environmental impacts, and the future growth on land) they have already produced over 20 generations of fish in Denmark in closed containment systems, and now this project in FL will create enough Atlantic salmon to feed all of the United States consumption in only 80 acres of land. The argument can be made this is the most environmentally friendly way of producing protein on the creates the most jobs, while saving other jobs which have been impacted from open ocean salmon farms and has the least amount of environmental impacts. Any questions on this business or model I would be happy to provide my best answers, so everyone has a better understanding that this technology is the present, let's not get left behind British Columbia.
