Update - Ruby’s surgery has been postponed until Monday January 22. Ruby is a cute bay Appendix Quarter Horse mare born in 2008. She is very quiet, friendly, and well broke. Ruby had suffered a severe shoulder injury in the summer of 2019. Her owners did a lot to help her recover from that but after about 2 months they were no longer able to continue her care so she came to us. The wound has been closing up but still requires daily care and attention. Ruby lost a lot o...f weight due to the stress of her injury but has now gained it back. After several months of different treatments it has been decided by our veterinarians that Ruby requires a surgical procedure to open the wound and find the source of the continuing infection. Today she went to Moore Equine Veterinary Centre for preoperative assessment and ultrasound, with surgery scheduled for Friday Jan 22. We are really hoping that this surgery tomorrow will help Ruby’s recovery, please send her good vibes and healing thoughts. If you would like to help Ruby please donate towards her veterinary costs . Update- Recent intakes Liam and Crimson are two foals that came in with their dams in November 2020. Liam the lovely palomino colt’s leg wound has since healed, he has been haltered loves scratches and is learning all about haltering and leading. Crimson arrived with an injury to one of her eyes. We believe she has minimal or no sight in that eye, but it doesn't bother her and she isn't touchy about it. Crimson was unhandled but is already a big fan of scratches, can be t...ouched all over, is now learning about haltering. Both will be available after they are weaned and Liam is gelded.
