Walterdale Bridge fully open to traffic! The third lane and west sidewalk on the new Walterdale Bridge opened this morning. With pedestrians and cyclists using... the new bridge, demolition of the old bridge will begin. Opening all three lanes to traffic is expected to ease the congestion experienced by drivers leaving the Kinsmen Sports Centre over the past several weeks. The Kinsmen access will be realigned as part of ongoing construction work. The new shared-use path is still on track to open later this fall.

Heads up Edmonton! The aerobatic team is in town for the Edmonton Airshow this weekend.

Our house is available for free for the next week from the 11th (Wednesday) until the 19th (Thursday) of May. We'd like to help someone from Fort McMurray, ideally a family - the house sleeps up to 10, with 3 double beds, 2 bunk beds and a double mattress in the living room. Sorry no pets in the house, but there is a large fenced garden if they can stay outside. Please book on AIRBNB at https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/9078683. Provide some ID with a Fort McMurray address and we'll charge no rent, just the cleaning fee $250. ($500 refundable damage deposit will be required).
