Beausejour Curling Club 10.02.2021

First of all, thank you to everyone who has already responded regarding your options for your 2020-21 fees (refund, credit or donation). An extra thank you to those who have donated all or part of your fees to the club. You will receive a tax receipt in the mail from the Brokenhead Community Foundation at a later date. If you have not yet responded with your option, please do so ASAP so that we can get this closed off. If you don't have the original email, a copy of the let...ter is available for download from our website at www.beauseourcurlingclub.ca. Secondly, thank you to everyone who has supported both the club and curling in Manitoba through purchasing tickets for Curl Manitoba's progressive jackpot raffle. Doesn't look like the winner of the January pot was one of our members but there is still February, March and the final Jackpot to be won. On that note, please read the following from Curl Manitoba if you wish to be in the February and/or March draws. Tickets can be purchased at www.fundingchange.ca/curlmanitoba. Please select Beausejour Curling Club in the Competitor box so that our club receives a portion of the ticket sales. From Curl Manitoba: Monthly Tickets sales are only good for the month you purchased them in and the Jackpot Draw (example: if you purchase a ticket in January, it is ONLY good for the January Monthly Draw and the Jackpot Draw). If you want to have a chance to win the February Draw, you must buy a ticket in February and then that ticket will be good for only the February Draw and another chance at the Jackpot Draw. Finally, thank you to Bruce Schade, our club president, for all his work this year. It's been a challenging start to his tenure as club president. We appreciate all his hard work in locating and applying for grants and looking at other options to keep our club financially viable for the future.

If you have not received your email regarding the closure of the Curling Club for the season, please check your spam folder. If you cannot find it, a copy of the letter can be downloaded from our website or you can email [email protected] and we will send you an individual copy. It appears some of the bulk emails might have gone to spam.

Due to the Provincial Regulations on Covid-19 and the restrictions being extended until at least February 15, 2021, the Beausejour Curling Club has decided to make the difficult decision to shut the ice plant and close the door on a return to play this season. We are extremely disappointed but believe the decision is in the best interest of the Curling Club long term. An email has been sent out to all members with more information on this decision and your options for refunds of your 2020-21 fees. A copy of the email can also be downloaded from our website at www.beausejourcurlingclub.ca.

We have received notice from the Town of Beausejour that as of Monday morning (Nov 2, 2020) starting at 6:00am, the Sungro Centre will be closed for two weeks due to the current COVID situation being very fluid. As a result, there will be no curling for the next two weeks. The Town will reassess the situation at the end of the 2 weeks. As we get additional information, we will update accordingly.
