We love this area, and our comfy cottage, and we're happy to share it with visitors who love nature and are looking for a quiet place to relax.
ADOPTED! I'll keep posting about Milo every day until he gets adopted! WHY did someone dump this gorgeous boy? He has gained a pound since i got him two wee...ks ago and LOVES wet food. He's 3-4 years old, neutered and gets along well with other cats (even my hissy girls! ). His adoption fee is 150 and he won't need any other vetting for a year. PM me if you're interested in meeting Milo. Fostered in Clementsport NS. Please remember that Milo is a 10-15 year commitment!
After a brief shower this evening, I was straightening up the deck furniture and saw the sunset reflected in the windows. Took a shot, then turned around and snapped the real thing. It truly never gets old.
Although there is a washer and dryer in the cottage, there's just something about a gorgeous summer afternoon that begs for that incomparable "dried in the ocean breeze" fragrance of laundry just off the line. We've just installed this little outdoor clothes dryer, for days like this.
After a dreary May, it's nice to see a spectacular Bay of Fundy sunset. We have guests in the cottage tonight who got to witness this from the deck. We're so pleased to be able to share the beauty we get to enjoy every day with people from all over the world.
The spring peepers (tiny frogs) are peeping up a storm tonight. We love their chorus, a signal that warmer days - and nights - are on the way!
The big one will be just outside the cottage door, hopefully crowded with herbs for our guests to snip and add to their culinary creations! (When people call and ask, "Is Andy handy?", my standard response is, "Yes! He can do anything!" lol)
Oh my. Today was a bit of a setback! All of a sudden the landscape is white again. But with the heat we've felt in the April sun the past few days, I bet the snow will be gone by suppertime tomorrow, and the crocus (crocci?) that has started to peek from the ground will carry on as if nothing has interrupted them at all. And the Spring Peepers (tiny frogs) will resume their evening chorus. So nice to see the longer days, and the sunsets have been gorgeous. We've been planting... seeds indoors to get an early start on the season; Andy does the salad greens, and I love the flowers. We're going to have a little herb garden at Beautiful Cove Cottage this year, so our guests can snip some fresh parsley, chives, oregano, cilantro... and maybe a few more things to add to whatever's on the dinner menu. I'll have to look for a very sheltered, sunny spot for the basil! See more
Just another gorgeous sunset tonight. Taken just down Lovers Lane, from Beautiful Cove Cottage. (Strange how they never get boring.)
We always like to hear what our guests have to say about the area and our cottage: Here are some of the comments they've left in our guest book: Sally Schneider (now of Freeport): "So beautiful we bought a house" Maureen and Wally Cassell, Hamilton, ON: "Wow! Unbelievable!" Kathy and Fred Anhorn, Vernon, B.C.: "Great Baking. Thank you!! Awesome View and Great Place" Malcom and Yvonne Gillis, Cape Breton: "Thank you! So beautiful here - great sleeps, sunsets and stars.... Lovely people too!!" Adam and Melanie Narish, Mesa Arizona: "Thank you. What a get away." Colleen Allison and Louison Poulin, Frampton, PQ: "Peaceful and relaxing, can't get tired of the view. So glad we discovered your cottage to rent! Paradise!" Angela O'Neil, Digby. "I'm telling all my friends!" Margaret and Karl Turner, Dartmouth: "This is more than a 'Chocolate on the pillow" resort. So delightfully appointed and nourishingly supplied. The cookies and muffins were to die for...Thanks again Chris and Andy" Michael and Laura LeDuc, Halifax: This was a very special visit to this Island and the lovely house I lived in for a sting in 2002-2003. We hope to come back next year with our kids! Thanks Chris and Andy." Brian and Ellen Cummings, Wisconsin: What an idyllic cottage. Chris and Andy are so thoughtful and gracious. We feel so lucky to have been able to experience N.S. at this beautiful location. Thanks" See more
After a busy day whale-watching and hiking on Saturday, our guests from the mid-west enjoyed sitting on the deck taking in a gorgeous sunset, and were thrilled to see a couple of humpbacks breaching offshore! After a few seconds, they could hear the mighty "whump" of the huge bodies hitting the water. They said that it's going to be hard to leave.

Let us introduce ourselves. We're Christine Callaghan and Andy Moir. We've lived and worked in Freeport for years. We've run our own home as a B and B, and Chris worked for 14 years as a guide on various whale watching boats. We know and love the area, and are happy to share our knowledge with our guests. We live just a stone's throw from the cottage, so we're available to answer any questions, or help in any way we can to make your visit wonderful!
