Our kids teach us a lot of perseverance and adaptation. Now that both our kids have had their taste of covid-19 accelerated 10 week Qtr system with 2.5 hrs long... classes, they seem to have adapted well without much of a complaint at all?! Sometimes us adults should be the ones to chill and reflect by sticking our heads above the clouds to see the sunshine ahead See more

COVID-19 update beautifulEyes Optometry set to reopen May 19th with safety measures to protect us all. As some people may carry Covid-19 without symptoms, we have to work under the assumption everyone may be a carrier. As such the following protocols are in place due to the close nature of our work: 1. Patients to wait in their cars until Dr calls/texts patients' ... mobile phone to limit patient numbers in waiting room. 2. Mandatory all patients to wash hands when entering clinic and Must BRING OWN face mask/scarf including children to don before entering clinic for entire eye exam. No Mask means No Exam. We have a duty to protect the public. 3. Only one patient at a time in office, exception will be 1 parent to accompany child in exam room if required. 4. If feverish with repiratory problems, stay home until better! 5. Disinfection will be done in exam room between every patient. All frames will be disinfected between trialing. See more

Update today from The College of Optometrists of British Columbia From the desk of the Registrar, Dr. Dale Dergousoff April 22, 2020 On March 23, 2020, Dr. Bonnie Henry, the Provincial Health Officer addressed all regulated health professionals in BC, regarding the provision of healthcare services. Healthcare professionals were ...asked to limit the delivery of in-person services in community settings, and this message remains current despite the recent mentioning of lifting some of these measures at a future date. To be clear, the message from the Provincial Health Officer continues to be that all non-essential and elective services involving direct physical contact with patients should be reduced to minimal levels, subject to allowable exceptions, until further notice. Regulated health professionals are encouraged to continue providing services via telehealth, where possible. Timelines as to when non-urgent, in-person care may resume still remain unknown. This direction will be provided by the Provincial Health Officer at the appropriate time. In the meantime, we ask that registrants continue to stay the course, limit in-person services to those patients who require urgent or emergency care that may not be delivered via telehealth. Please continue to consult the College’s website for the most up to date information available.

Covid-19 in tears?

Beautiful Eyes Optometry in the Cove 20.06.2020

I'm sick... of our BC Government! I'm not willing to wait any longer for the BC Government to take their sweet time to implement drastic measures to protect the... safety of it's citizens. Most of the other provinces have already implemented a complete lockdown, including Ontario, Nova Scotia, Quebec and more. BC Government needs to wake up, take action and start protecting us NOW. Dear BC Government, we are giving you the permission to #ShutBCDown. We want to go back to our normal lives ASAP. The only way to do this is by a complete lockdown. Take a photo with a sign that says #ShutBCDown and tag 50 of your friends. Upload it onto Facebook, Instagram and let's start a movement!

Chera Rasmussen is with Mark Rasmussen and Cindy Shum and Tony Wong. There is an awesome Optometrist in Deep Cove area right beside Dollarton Village Mall. We had the best pro experience for our annual exams. They also donate 10% of sales to the local school PAC of your choice. So nice to see a local business supporting our community!

Thanks for all those who've supported our #ride#conquercancer fundraiser so far. Tony and I encourage those who've not donated to please consider or better yet, sign up on our team page to join us: http://www.conquercancer.ca/goto/cshum http://www.conquercancer.ca/goto/FYiTony... We have just under 6 months left to go to reach our target of $5000 for us to ride. No one deserves to go through cancer treatments, I'm telling you chemo is not fun and downright nasty on your entire body. After 3 chemo rounds, I'm super ready to enter the ring for my last chemo boxing round and hope to give cancer a 1-2 knock out punch in the chops... Wish me luck! This thing called cancer has taken away too many loved ones from us all. With your help to donate or ride with us, more $ are raised for cutting edge cancer research at the BC Cancer Foundation. There is Hope to eradicate cancer and place it on ice once and for all!

It is estimated that 206,200 Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer each year. In order to mark World Cancer Day which is fast approachig (February 4th) and raise awareness about the negative impact cancer has on too many of us I am am hoping to receive at least one donation of $206.20. I will match all donations of $206.20 to my ride from now until the end of February. Unfortunately, I am not in a position to match donations of $2,062.00, $20,620.00, or $206,200.00 but those numbers quickly bring home how many fellow Canucks will have to face cancer in 2019. Let’s do what we can to give everyone the best chance to conquer cancer. Tony Wong
