We would like to thank everyone who submitted photos for MCIB’s Virtual Showcase Gardens Program. This type of online sharing is clearly not for everyone, and did present a few challenges. Further, this past garden season was quite complicated, even hampered, by the extreme mosquito season! I’ve been working on this acreage for approximately 25 years. It was a clean slate when we moved in. Our biggest challenge here is keeping the slugs and snails away. My banana plants and back deck potted garden give me the most pleasure. We get woodpeckers here, feed hummingbirds all year long, and enjoy a lot of songbirds and squirrels. Plenty of sharing goes on at the feeders.
