Covid - 19****Update**** The VBBA Executive and Associations had a video meeting tonight to discuss how the Covid-19 impacts our ball season. After much discussion a very hard decision was made. With deep regret, we have voted to cancel the 2020 ball season. This was a tough decision but one we feel is necessary.... We want to thank all of our families for your continued patience as we worked through this. We hope to see you all back in 2021 for a return to baseball. We will be contacting those who have already paid. Your BMBA Executive

Happy Mother’s Day!! Tomorrow would have been the start of the season. Just like everyone, we are taking it day by day. Dreaming of the day we can play ball again.

As most of you are aware, the start of the season will be postponed. We would normally have seen the start of the season May 11th. Covid-19 could potentially keep us off the diamonds for awhile. The start of the season will be continually assessed as the situation changes. All baseball diamonds are closed, no one should be attempting to access the park. If the season is cancelled, refunds will be given to all who have paid. Please continue to be safe and follow all social distancing rules.

As you are all aware we have had to cancel all our in person registration dates. Please sign up using our online process. We hope to be able to communicate what our season will look like in the coming weeks. For now please follow the self isolation instructions so we can beat this virus and get back to playing ball!

We are however looking for more help with the behind the scenes this year. With many hands it makes for lighter work! We can discuss this further.... Mini Mite Year End Tournament is this weekend July 13, at Ops diamonds. Both Beaverton teams first game time is 9:30. Pizza lunch will be provided to all players. Hot dog cart will be there for parents. There will be water filling stations, so please bring a reusable water bottle. Have fun!! Go Lakehawks Go!

Teeball Parents--- You should have recieved an email. If you did not receive an email, please let us know. All Parents---... We need volunteers for teams to coach and manage. Without someone stepping up to help with teams, including teeball, there will NOT be any teams. We can't coach and run every team. If your team does not have a coach...you will be receiving and email asking for someone to step up. If your team has a coach, you will be receiving an email with your contact info for your coach. **Exciting News for Mosquito Players(ages 9, 10)** The VBBA will be implementing some changes in the Mosquito division. For the first 3 innings in every game all the children will be hitting off of a pitching machine to help speed up the game and allow more kids the opportunity to have a chance to hit the ball. Every inning after that the teams will bring in pitchers. Rules on the website will be updated shortly to allow for the changes in that division.

UPDATE!!!!! The vbba is is starting the coach selections and making a list of interested players. Once a coach is selected they will announce tryouts. We will keep everyone posted as that info becomes available. The VBBA is gauging interest with Select Baseball teams next season. These teams will be selected from tryouts from all players in the VBBA. As a select player you will still play all your games in the VBBA but maybe 3 or 4 times a year you will form as a select tea...m and play in tournaments. There will be an added cost to play for a select team with pricing to come at a later date. Age groups would be Mosquito/Squirt and above. It would be a little bit more competitive than house league baseball but a step under Rep Baseball. Please let us know if you would be interested in something like this and the age group you are interested in. Thank You!

We want to say thanks to a whole bunch of people that helped make the now complete dug-out covers a reality! Back in February 2017, the BMBA decided to figure out how to make some improvements to the diamonds in the 2018 season. We put in proposals to both the Beaverton Lions club and the Township of Brock explaining what we hoped to accomplish. On July 1st long weekend we began the process. 5 weekends of this summer were spent down their with our families to get these ...built. It was hot, hard work and we had a great time doing it:-) Special thanks to the following people and companies that helped make this happen: ~ Paul Vandenakker of Dutchman Contracting. He designed, he built, he brought the tools and the expertise all summer! Thanks to the two Dean's for their huge help too:-) ~ Kim Drake for fabricating those amazing brackets and working with Paul on the design ~ Beaverton Lions Club for the funding and the use of their shed when needed ~ Township of Brock for the financial help as well as the save with the back hoe ~ Tim Godfrey of Godfrey Fencing for volunteering to help with the holes that just were not to be:-) ~ Hill's Home Hardware for their patience, guidance and deliveries ~ Terry Clayton for being the tractor provider and operator (seriously, hand wheeling that fill would have taken all summer!) Our families. We spend long, hot full days down their with our combined 8 kids and they were amazing.

8 months of planning, amazing funding support from the Lions, the Township was a huge help digging trenches when the augers wouldn't bite, and Dutchman Contracting not only designed and figured things out for us but has been giving his weekends along with Brian and Rachel to get these awesome dugout covers in. Kim at Beaverton Metal works put his head together with Paul to fabricate the brackets. Todd from Hill's Home Building Centre delivered on a Sunday morning and Terry has been using his tractor to move our fill all day. This is such a great community effort to make ball at our diamonds even better! We thank everyone who has been helping out!!!

Township is doing an awesome job of getting the trenches dug for the new dugout covers. Fences are up for safety until we can get posts in on Sunday!
