We hope this guy brings a smile to all who pass by This guy has stood along the highway for about 25 years now For those who are seeing him for the first time t...his year, this is a new location In the past he was just a little south, but the spruce trees have grown so much over the years, it was getting harder to see him, he was hiding amongst the trees, and he’s about 25 feet tall Last year he was on vacation preparing for the move Preparing this guy, and making a little repair, is more work than I ever knew This was the first time I actually helped The Welder, my husband, get him ready , it has taken almost a week, but it’s all worth it We love hearing the stories of how this guy has helped people find their way home on snowy nights, the smiles it brings to kids passing by, we have so many customers who use the snowman as a landmark and little ones asking where he is When we first put this guy up, our kids were obviously a lot younger, and when most people have flag raising ceremonies, we would have a snowman raising ceremony, it was definitely a highlight to the season This year more than ever, we hope the Snowman brings a Smile to All

I just realized, this sign tells a story of 3 generations Beaverton Metal Works was started by my late father, George Drake, in 1965 ... I wonder how many people realize what goes on behind the scenes when you own your own business This is what we typically do after a snow storm, we shovel out 200 storage units which takes about 4 hours with 3 people and Plowing the lot takes another 4+ hours We usually hire the Plowing out to Hicktown Mini-Bins, but after a heavy snowfall, Dad takes over and helps out...
