Today Shoppers Drug Mart (Sydney River, Glace Bay and North Sydney) graciously presented our Foundation with $5,000 to go toward women's needs in the Cape Breton Cancer Centre. In September 2020, the Shoppers Drug Marts came together to host their annual 'Growing Women’s Health' Golf Tournament, raising a total of $15,000! Meet Erin Richard. Erin has been living for almost 4 and a half years with a rare, aggressive type of stage 4 breast cancer called Triple Negative. One of Erin’s goals is to support the Fund that helped her when she could no longer work during her treatment - the Cancer Patient Care Fund. A section of the Port Morien highway has been adopted in memory of our beloved friend Leigh-Anne, who passed away in June of 2020 after courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer. As part of the detailed design phase of planning, Cape Breton Cancer Centre staff and physicians are using simulation tools to gain a sense of how the new builds will look and function. We have an opportunity to revolutionize the way we deliver health care locally and we need to get it right.
