We have talked to many people and decided that while the main events for The Russell Beef & Barley Festival will need to be postponed, we have decided to continue two events which we can maintain safe distances and still have fun! The Scarecrow Competition will be a go, as well as the Russell Lion's Car Rally! Grab your participation number & register your Scarecrow at Tinhouse Coffee or Reavie’s Pharmacy until the deadline of NOON on Friday October 2nd! Scarecrows must be re...ady for display by Sunday, October 4th at 4pm. Maps will be available outside the Assiniboine Valley Recreation Office (Main Street side of Russell Memorial Multiplex) on Sunday, October 4th; Reavie's Pharmacy and TinHouse Coffee starting Monday, October 5th; or downloadable on Sunday, October 4th from the Russell Beef and Barley Festival Facebook page! Votes must be handed in by 5pm on Friday October 9th to either Tinhouse or Reavies! The Russell Lion's Car Rally will be hosted on Sunday, October 11th! More details to come on this event!

The Russell Beef and Barley Festival is pleased to be able to provide a donation to the ongoing Expanding Community Cancer Care project. This project is vital to our community and a much needed addition to our health care center. We would like to tell the Expanding Community Cancer Care team we appreciate their continued efforts with this project. Tyler Kilkenny and Sadie McCauley, Russell Beef & Barley Festival committee members present $3,000 to Pam Burton on behalf of the Expanding Community Cancer Care.

The Russell Beef & Barley Festival 14.08.2020

For the past 3 years the Major Pratt Grade 8 class has hosted the Kid’s Amazing Race during the annual Russell Beef and Barley Festival. They develop and implement fun activities for students aged 4-12 to participate in at various locations around the community. The Beef and Barley Committee is pleased to present them with a cheque for $250 to be put towards their class trip. Hey everyone! Just a reminder that you have until noon TODAY to register and pick up your number for the Beef & Barley Festival Scarecrow Competition! Please register at TinHouse Designs & Coffee Co. or Reavie's Pharmacy before NOON today! There's no specific theme this year, so have fun and let your imagination go wild! ... REMEMBER! People will get the map Sunday, October 4th at 4pm and the camera person will be around after 4pm, so PLEASE make sure your Scarecrow is show-ready!

The Russell Beef & Barley Festival this year will have two events, the Scarecrow Competition and The Russell Lion's Car Rally! Scarecrow competition! Grab your participation number & register your Scarecrow at TinHouse Designs & Coffee Co. or Reavie's Pharmacy until the deadline of NOON on Friday October 2nd! There is no theme this year, so go crazy! (Keep it kid-friendly please :) )... The library ran the canteen for the movie night as well as cleaned up following the event during Beef & Barley.

With another successful festival under our belt, the Russell Beef & Barley Festival’s committee has decided to provide our local Russell & Area Food Connections with a cheque of $1000. With the season of giving upon us, if you would like to contribute to families in our community in need, please feel free to drop off your donation at the Parkland Regional Community Linc building.
