I also have my covid certification I have not hung up yet. I have a background in cosmetology school from early 2008 then I added other mini courses to bring me where I am today, also took biology 11 and 12 in my twenties. I am insured and interior health regulated which means I follow my service protocols. EACH SERVICE in our industry has certain service safety protocols, different services means different protocols! All in which are rated at different levels low Risk, med...ium risk and high risk. Low risk tools are ones that don't come in contact with bodily fluids, those tools are either required to be disposable or they are put into an autoclave. Low risk requires barbicide like at your hairdressers /medium require a disinfectant soak other then barbicide. The soak I use does in fact treat HIV and other bloodborne pathogens even though these level services don't come in contact with bodily fluids it's still an extra precaution. All my high risk service tools are disposable, sterile and packaged in proper packaging.Even my pedicure pumice stones are disposable. My hydrafacial machine is also health Canada approved as well as its product. I also ask extensive medical questions on paper prior to any permanent make up treatment as yes certain meds or health issues can effect treatments or can cause harm. (yes we are taught this during our certification) One being iron deficiencies because my pigments are iron oxide so when our bodies are iron deficient, the body will absorb the pigment because it contains iron. This doesn't mean you can't have treatments done just means both client and tech need to be aware because it can cause results to be interfered with. To my clients that know me good, I'm sure you are will aware the thought I put into my work and the precautions I use to keep you all safe.
