Hello! It’s April 9! 21 days to go... thank you to everyone who has brought their information in... and a big reminder to those that haven’t yet!! Today’s tip is regarding your medical expenses- if you are like me, it’s hard to keep track of all those tiny prescription receipts for taxes. Now most (if not all) pharmacies can print off a list of all your prescriptions for you for the year, eliminating the need to save the receipts! And it’s already totalled for us to use on your return ! It’s a win for everyone!

Good morning! Tax season is in full swing here already! Thank you so much to those that have already brought in your information, it is very appreciated. I’m sure you have heard the stories on the news, but I wanted to mention that this year we are seeing a lot of people that normally receive refunds have to pay- and most of the time it is because they received covid support payments during 2020. Please remember there was no tax withheld on the CERB payments that were avail...able between March and September! Thanks!

Hello Everyone! It’s March 1, which means we are switching our focus from filing your T4’s & T5’s to getting ready for Personal Tax season!!! Stay tuned for some helpful hints and reminders on what all we will need from you this year! We will be beginning to work on tax returns later this week/beginning of next. The first important change this year we are going to discuss is the Working from Home tax credit- since that applied for a lot of people during this pandemic. The...re are 2 routes to choose from: the simplified method, which doesn’t require a form signed by your employer and just uses the number of days you worked at home (at least a minimum of four consecutive weeks), and the detailed method, which uses actual receipts and needs a Declaration if Conditions of Employment Form signed by your employer. More specifics can be found at: https://www.canada.ca//work-space-/calculate-expenses.html Please remember to tell us if this applies for you, and which method you would like to claim under!

We made it! Today is the last day of Personal Tax Season 2020!! It’s definitely been one for the books- it’s not often we have a one month extension in the middle of a global pandemic that forces us to change pretty well every procedure we have on dealing with our clients lol. Thank you for trusting us with your personal taxes again this year, and for taking all our policy changes in stride! It was as weird for us to have your information go into quarantine as it was for y...ou to put it there... Thank you to our staff for making this season as painless as it could be! It is not easy to basically put your home life on hold for months on end to make sure everything gets done on time, and it is truly appreciated!! I know my daughter is as excited for the end of tax season as I am!! Thanks again, and have a wonderful summer!! Amanda & Kevin

Hello! Just a friendly reminder that there is finally only 13 days left of personal tax season! For those of you that have still to bring in your information, please remember that we leave it in quarantine for 4 days before we work on it, so we will not be able to finish any tax returns that come in past May 27. Thanks for your cooperation, and continuing patronage!!... Amanda & Kevin

Good Morning Everyone! Normally at this point, we would be telling you that there is only 4 more days of tax season, and we would be asking you very kindly to please bring your information as soon as possible! This year, the deadline has been extended until June 1. However, we would still greatly appreciate your information coming in as soon as possible, especially if you are a farmer who is itching to get out to the field! This will give us plenty of time to finish your re...turn- plus the sooner your taxes are in, the sooner we can get your refund to you if you have one! Please also keep in mind that once your information is brought in, it stays in our quarantine for 4 days before we can work on it for you. If you want to skip the quarantine, you are welcome to email your information into our office. We also are mailing everyone’s returns back to them, unless you have large records that will be too costly to mail- in that case, we have a table at our side door where your records will be waiting for you- just call us when you are in the parking lot. Thank you for your continuing patronage! Amanda and Kevin
