Scona Pool and Tipton Arena will remain open! Looks like design AND construction funding for Rollie Miles is potentially in the works for Spring budget adjustme...nts. If you haven't yet, please sign up for rec advocacy updates via the Queen Alexandra Community League website, under "Community Recreation Advocacy." We will be letting folks know how they can support what will hopefully be our last big push in the spring. For now, let's celebrate. Well done, and thank you to all who sent in letters, spoke to Council and filled out our surveys. https://edmontonjournal.com//edmonton-city-council-adds-th

The Canadian Blood Services is "adding more blood donation appointments to meet patient needs and we need to fill every available appointment. While anyone can donate, there is a lack of youth donors in our community. We hope to encourage the commitment of these youth to donating blood in hopes of saving lives not just now, but in the future. As the need for blood donation grows, we appreciate any and all donations and personally thank you for saving a life." #DonorsAreEssential #canadaslifeline Book now at: blood.ca/nexgenEDM

The Queen Alexandra Community League has asked that we share the following message: The news about potential closure of Scona Pool and Tipton Arena is big. So is the fact that Rollie Miles Rec Centre is not yet funded to be built. This budget is going to set the trajectory of recreation in our community for years to come. It is important. Please make your voice heard by filling out this quick survey (https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLSfbJGl7_VqC_WzTAj/viewform). We want to k...now how you feel about the proposed closures. After you've filled out the survey, please take the following 2 actions: 1 - Post the link to your social media feeds & encourage other neighbours to fill it out. 2 - Forward this email to other contacts in your community and surrounding communities that are stakeholders in the discussion. Invite them to also participate.

The purpose of this group is to create a local supportive network and community among new moms living in these university-adjacent neighbourhoods. There are many Edmonton mom and baby gr...oups on Facebook but this group is unique in that it aims to foster local (walking distance) neighbourhood connections among new moms for sharing and support, socially distanced activities (online or in person), and friendship." https://www.facebook.com/groups/universityareanewmoms/about
