Great day today at the trails! Big thank you to the team at Frontier Homes Quinte and Madison Excavating who dropped off two truck loads of clay dirt and moved it around the park for us! The build crew did a fantastic job shaping up the bermed corners and improving the features! Back at it tomorrow 9-12! This park only works because of great partnerships with City of Belleville | Municipal Government, great local businesses, and community members coming out to put in some work.
*Trail Build Day Saturday & Sunday!* We are looking for volunteers to help with trail building this weekend. We have received a huge donation of 2 dump truck loads of clay dirt from Frontier Homes Quinte which will be delivered Friday morning. We will need volunteers with shovels and wheelbarrows to help move it to the berms and inside trails. 9-12 both days, please comment if you are coming!
We had a great trail cleanup and build this morning! It is all ready to ride so grab your bike and get out there! We improved some features and removed a lot of pesky little stumps. We will reach out to the city to see about getting more dirt dropped off to build up the corners, a few years ago a local construction company donated several dump truck loads and the city came out to help spread it out. It would be great to get this again, or even just permission to dump and have volunteers build! Enjoy!
The trails are back open! I biked around today and found that the fences had all been removed. Big thank you to City of Belleville | Municipal Government Belleville Parks and Recreation for taking them down so quickly as there are many fences all over the city that had to come down and they are understaffed at the moment. Given that they have just opened their is some maintenance to be done and I will be cleaning up the trails tomorrow morning from 9am to 11am. Since I was just riding by to check on the park I got to shred the trails on my cruiser bike!
The park is currently closed as are all outdoor recreation facilities in the province. Please respect the closure and we will get back to riding and maintenance when this passes.
The trail is all cleared and raked out! Since the leaves havent come back yet the ground is pretty dry so it is ready to ride.
The Riverside Bike Park Father's Day Demo is back!
Great ride today on the trails, the city has done a good job building up some of the berms. I'll be out tomorrow morning to rake some leaves!
Big update today! The Parks Department has seen how much use the trail is getting and has decided to make some major improvements to the trail, including higher berms in the corners, greater trail definition, and some new features! Big thanks to Hawkers Construction for bringing 4 truckloads of dirt, and to Doug's Bicycle for picking up the tab (24 tall cans)! Once this latest construction is completed I'll inquire about proceeding with new trails as the city seems content with what we have done so far!
Father's Day Bike Demo!
Come on out the park on Sunday the 18th for an awesome Fathers Day Bike Demo!
Don't forget our meeting tonight, at 8pm at Doug's Bicycle! Really looking for some input and volunteers!
Hi everyone! I have had a great talk with Mike Hession from Ontario Bike Parks, and he forwarded these great photos of some of the pump tracks that he has built. I think this would be a great way to proceed, but I would like to organize a meeting to build a team to get this done! The proposed meeting is May 15th (Monday) at 8 pm at Doug's Bicycle! Please let me know if you are interested in coming, like, and share!
Thanks to everyone who rode and maintained the trails last season! As you can see the trail is really nicely worn in and defined right now, although it is really wet!
Please Read! Last night Doug's Bicycle was broken into and two mountain bikes were stolen from us. The two bikes are a red Santa Cruz Hightower C, and a Giant Trance Advanced 2. If anyone has any leads or has seen these bikes please let us know and please share!

Big news for us today! The Parks Department will be clearing out brush in some treed areas next week for us to start cutting trails! The city will have access to fallen trees for us to use to build our skills park as well! Get excited, trails are coming!... The city has set out a budget for planning in West Riverside, and we are being referred to a landscape architect to work with us on the design of the dirt jump park & pump tracks for approval by council. We will keep everyone up to date on when the meetings are happening!
