Santa is still coming to town this year with Santa's Drive-By Celebration! The celebration will reverse the process with spectators driving through a one-way route around the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre with static displays. See the event page for details.

The Belleville Chamber of Commerce regrets to announce they have been advised by Health Unit Personnel the Market In The Park for this Sunday, September 13 must... be cancelled. There is concern the intended open-air market at West Zwick’s may encourage a gathering larger than allowed under the current legislation. Over the summer, the Chamber has transformed events to comply with safety regulations and this event was modified from the typical Flavours of Fall usually held at the Armouries in late September. We are very sorry for getting your hopes up. We believed Market in the Park would comply with safety measures and not put anyone in our community at risk. The combination of the downtown Side Hustle Market and Pop-ups on the Bay with some wandering minstrel style entertainment as our addition seemed the perfect solution for a wonderful family outing. For now, we encourage everyone to stay safe and stay healthy. We look forward to an opportunity to try this again. The Kiwanis, Kites and Kids event will continue as planned at East Zwick’s and the Pop-ups on the Bay will remain open with their own schedules.

So this is a callout to all my East Hill friends -- or at least those who live between Pine and Dundas and John and Macdonald. Our friends at the Rotary Club ar...e putting the final touches on Porchfest and are still looking for a few good porches. So if you have one -- or any front space that could make a good spot to sing from -- please reach out to them to offer your space. It's a lot of fun and you get a front row seat for some very talent local musicians. As a bonus you might get to host Just B'Cuz featuring the stunning vocals of Lisa Grills and the immensely talented Rockin' Rob (and I will be there too, in the back, although they do let me have a microphone....). So if you have space please contact our friends at Porchfest at porchfest.ca to host. Or if you know somebody that has a space, ask them to host. It's a lot of fun and a great COVID-friendly community event And we look forward to seeing you all on September 26 in the East Hill! See more
