Happy Monday everyone! We love to zen out before starting work and having a scenic outdoor across the office helps! Hope you have a lovely week.

How to avoid the ' Post Halloween SPOOKS!! ' Remember: 1. Candy, in moderation, isn't bad. Make sure you have one over the shortest period of time possible i.e. never space out your sugar consumption over many hours.... 2. A piece of cheese will neutralize the acidity in your mouth so incase you're out and don't have a toothbrush handy, look for a 'Laughing Cow' ;O) 3. No one wakes up one morning with a hole in their tooth. The progression of dental decay takes time and so one night of treating yourself to candy isn't the end of the world. 4. Mask on and carry hand sanitizer! Have fun!

CTS ( Cracked Tooth Syndrome ) is the term we give to teeth that have a crack in it. The crack may be superficial, deep or complete. A thorough understanding of how cracks propagate into teeth and more importantly, if it can be fixed with a filling, a crown or an implant, results in the best long term prognosis of the tooth!

A glimpse on how we’re re-opening cautiously. 1. We’ll be seeing older and more susceptible clients on Monday mornings ( to use the two days we’re off on the weekend as an added safety precaution ) 2. For procedures where we can not avoid aerosols, we’ll schedule them at the end of the day so we have 12 hours of downtime before the office reopens the next morning.... 3. There will be no one in our waiting rooms and patients will be called or texted in once we’re ready for them. 4. We have our staff assisting you from the time you come in to the time you exit so there’s minimal touching of any surfaces. A special thanks to our patient Johanna for letting us shoot this video.

Our very own Patricia turned the ‘BIG 4 Oh!!’ the other day! I wish we could say that apart from birthday cake ‘what happens in the office stays in the office Trish!’ but.. no such luck. Happy b’day Trish! Just remember the silver lining, 25 more years to that seniors discount!

Oral cancer facts: * Oral cancer has increased 225% in the past three decades. * Oral cancer is the 11th cause of cancer mortality.... * Survival rates for those with oral cancer has not changed over the last 30 years * Early detection of the disease (stages I and II) is associated with a survival rate of 80% compared with only 20% of those with advanced disease (stages III and IV). At Waterfront Dentistry, our protocol is to check everyone ONCE a year with aids designed to show us if there’re any traces of abnormality.

Our very talented Stephanie Holoway made and gave away these lovely earrings to the rest of our staff! ( Dr Paul's worried if this is what the folks in the arts and crafts business call 'giving the boss a 2 week notice' after getting a business plan together )
