HAPPY HALLOWEEN FROM THE UNDERGROUND While we are very sad we’re unable to have our Halloween howler event at the mine this year due to covid-19, we still have a spooky scary treat for everyone! Earlier in the summer we had Real Scary Podcast reach out to us and ask for some information on the mine; stories, history, tours, and of course, the unexplainable they’re a Canadian focused podcast centred around highlighting some of the scariest paranormal stories in th...e country and we were SO excited that they wanted to work with us! Fast forward to TODAY and that podcast episode is ready to be heard (if you are brave enough) the link is attached at the bottom! So, in a year that has tested our creativity and ability to share the wonderful experience of the mine, we hope you enjoy the stories our staff have to offer here in the episode. And of course, have a SAFE and HAPPY Halloween! https://anchor.fm/realscarypodcast

August 31st, 11:57am. This is one for (our) history books When Dustin initially reached out to us here via email, we were all GUSHING at the idea and ready to make it happen. We collected lights, we booked the private time slot, we found a photographer, we rehearsed, we changed the lights, and we rehearsed again. We knew this had to be perfect. Thank you SO much again Dustin, for bringing us this challenge and trusting us with such an important moment in both your lives. ...We loved the chance to be creative, and this tour by far, is at the top of our list : @sydneydelrae we full heartedly, with no hesitation, recommend Sydney Bohmer as a photographer for any special occasion. She was phenomenal!!

Did you know, that while our tours go in 1000 feet... that only accounts for 0.08% of the entire actual mine? There were a total of nine different levels in the Bellevue mine and the main haulage route had a distance of approximately 5.6km! When all of the tunnels were added up together, the total combined length was nearly 240km. We can only imagine what the rest of the mine looks like today. But to see a glimpse of the underground life of the miners and learn the history of the mine, call or email us today to book a tour!

They say water holds the memory of all those who are near it. The stream flowing out of the mine has been flowing ever since the mine has closed. And even back in the days of the miners it was always threatening to flood the lower levels of the mine. While working in the lower levels of the mine, it was not uncommon for our miners to be working in water levels up to their knees. But now with the lower levels completely abandoned the water has reclaimed it’s territory. Because of the water pressure and lack of oxygen, the lower levels are completely frozen in time. And every inch of those tunnels is left exactly as the miners left it. Memories, hardships, and all.
