Bell's Martial Arts 10.11.2020

Hey everyone, I'll be posting links to the gradings here once they are done. I'll be separating them by times, so when everyone gets home, you should be able to watch the grading together. I only have the one laptop, but I'll do my best with the angle. Very excited for today. See everyone soon, Sensei... 11am Grading https://youtu.be/ex6n6fzbwdA 12pm Grading https://youtu.be/oZ9XHOohYWI 1pm Grading https://youtu.be/dLuTSpwgw5U 2pm Grading https://youtu.be/RbIzweG1JN0 3pm Grading https://youtu.be/3ZV4sEyVjfA 4pm Grading https://youtu.be/B-TdMB4eDvE

Hello everyone, So, just listening to the provincial announcements and I am going to run the grading tomorrow. After I make this post, I will start calling everyone to see what times people can make it to the dojo for the grading. Again, I'm sorry that this isn't ideal. It is by no means mandatory to do the grading. But I would like to offer the last grading to students. I'm not confident that we can wait until 17th, but if anyone can't make it or wants to wait I will offer a... make up grading on the 17th as well, but only if I can stay open. After the grading, all classes will continue to run until the 17th when I will officially be closing, again unless Covid measures prevent me from staying open. I'll be running the grading with one black belt, I won't be allowing spectators in the dojo but I will be uploading each group of the grading to YouTube so families can watch together at home. I'll be starting groups at 11am and every hour after that. Each group will be limited to groups of six maximum, masks are mandatory like classes, extra masks and hand sanitizer will be available, and I will be cleaning between groups. Thank you again to everyone. I hope to see everyone soon. Sensei

Hello everyone! I want to check in and see how everyone is feeling and what people are thinking. There's about two weeks until the grading, but with numbers in Ontario on the rise, and parts of Quebec in lockdown, I'm not sure Ontario will last two more weeks before we might have to move back into phase 2 or be locked down. I can't push the grading back as the Dojo is closing and I have to get ready to move out, but the weekend of the 10th is Thanksgiving and I know a lot of ...families have plans. Which leave us with this weekend or the weekend of the 17th. I know it's not ideal, especially for those going for their junior black belt, but it's what we have. What does everyone think about moving the grading to this weekend or keeping it on the 17th? I'm open to potentially doing a grading this weekend and the weekend of the 17th, but let me.know what might work for anyone in the grading and families. I'll be talking with parents tonight before and after classes as well. Be well and see everyone soon. Senaei

Hello Everyone, The last little while has been a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. Thank you to everyone for you understanding and for the support. All classes are on as normal this week. There's a few things to go over for the next few while.... I'm not going to be able to do the online classes. I haven't for the last couple weeks, but a few people were wondering if I was going to be able to start again. All the prep to close is taking a lot more time than I thought, so I'm going to have to keep Saturdays free for prepping. A lot of folks have asked if I am interested in private lessons after the Dojo closes. I am very interested. I'm not too sure where, but I think backyards would be the best, but I'll be taking the rest of the year off from teaching. I am going to need a break before I can jump back in. If you are interested, please email closer the New Year. I'm keeping the Dojo email active if anyone wants to reach me. The Dojo will be closing after the up coming grading on October 17th. I'm going to be running the grading different from the past. The week before the grading, I'll be giving everyone a time for a small group, I'll be cleaning between gradings, and the groups will be 3-5 people at a time, I'll have a black belt there to help me, and depending on numbers I may be able to allow one spectator for each student. But I can't guarantee I'll be allowing any spectators. That will depend on if we have to move back into phase 2 and a few other factors. But I will be setting up my laptop and streaming the grading, so even if friends and families can't watch in person, each group will be be on YouTube and everyone can watch at home together. I won't be accepting payment for the grading until the day of, again, just in case we are moved back a phase and can't do the grading. And if there are any concerns about the grading, please talk to be before the day. I would love to work through any issues anyone may have. I'm sorry if I haven't gotten back to anyone. I'm finishing responses to the closing I've received, but it's taking some more time than I thought, and is a lot more emotional than I realized it was going to be. But thank you to everyone for the kind words. It means the world to me and I can not thank you enough!!! I'm looking forward to the last stretch at the Dojo with everyone and helping follks get ready for the last grading. Sensei

Hello everyone, With everything going on it's looking like I need tomorrow to take care of a few things. I won't be able to do digital classes. All in person classes this week will still be happening. I'll see everyone this week. Sensei
