During the last provincial election, part of our advocacy campaign for the Saskatchewan Disability Income Support Coalition was to organize all-candidates forums in Regina and Saskatoon. The forums attracted hundreds of participants into community halls and provided the opportunity for discussion between candidates and their constituents. This year the pandemic forced us to rethink that strategy and we created a Facebook Live event in which all the candidates appeared in person along with a moderator. The event last night has reached 829 so far, more than 1,200 engagements and 537 comments. The event still lives on the DISC Facebook site so those numbers will continue to increase. The results indicate that a combination of in-person and broadcasting will be the future of such events.

2020 marks our 20th anniversary, and this month we’ll be releasing our anniversary edition of Saskatchewan Farmers’ Voice magazine! We travelled to Langenburg ...to catch up with founding APAS President Terry Hildebrandt during harvest.
