Our five year old mare "Fifi" (Finest/Londonderry) had a great show this past weekend at the Caledon Dressage Show at Angelstone. It was awesome just have her get some exposure and show ring experience, and Fifi showed her amazing temperament and rideability by coming home Open Bronze Training Level Champion, including 2 scores of over 70%, all at her very first show! Many thanks to the volunteers at Caledon Dressage for working through the challenges of COVID to put on a safe, organized, and fun show!
Our long-time boarder Lynda Cooper and her handsome boy Nashua, pictured here by the very talented Marian Adoranti. Nashua, now 25, is still looking and feeling great and sometimes has to be reminded to act his age ;) Both Nashua and Lynda have persevered through some hard times the last few years and we are very proud of them both!
While it's sad to say goodbye to our horses when they move on to new homes, it means more time to focus on the up-and-coming youngsters we are excited about, including this tall, leggy and elegant 3 year old by Finnigan/Londontime. This mare is already proving to have a great attitude; sweet, kind and willing. Combining that with 3 lovely gaits, we think this mare will develop into a wonderful dressage mount.
We also said a fond "goodbye for now" to our lovely home bred mare Heisses Hoeschen (His Highness/Waikiki). She has a lovely new partner now, and we look forward to hearing if her training progress, and look forward to her one day returning to us as a broodmare.
This past weekend we said goodbye to our lovely homebred mare "Dani" (Don Index/Waikiki). With the trials that COVID 19 brought with it this spring, she stayed with us a bit longer rather than move to her new home, which gave me some extra time to work with her. She was a pleasure to bring along with her great brain and work ethic, at just 4 years old. We wish her new owners much success and hope they have as much fun with her as we have had.
Fifi's (Finest/Londonderry) first solo hack to the back of the property was relaxed, confident, and uneventful; just the way I like it! Not only does this mare have the looks and the movement, she has a great brain and willing temperament too, that combine to make her so trainable. I love her more with each ride, and she'd make a great partner for AAs or pros alike.
