Each year, more than 450 workplaces across the Alberta Capital Region run their own United Way fundraising campaigns. These campaigns inspire donors and volunteers to support our community’s most vulnerable, including those living in poverty, and raise much-needed funds that benefit children, families and seniors. Bent Arrow is hosting a 50/50 Fundraiser with proceeds going to United Way of the Alberta Capital Region. Last year, we raised almost $4000 with half going to one l...ucky winner! This year, our goal is to raise $7000.00 If we reach our goal, one lucky winner could take home $3500 for the Christmas holidays!!! Will it be you? Tickets at 1 for $5 or 3 for $10 Tickets can be purchased at our head office 11648 85th St, in Edmonton or by calling Darlene 587-337-6043 or Lindsey 780-481-3451 x 252 Support local initiatives today!!

Bent Arrow and our GOA partners came out in big numbers to observe #orangeshirtday today. This years design was brought to us by Staples Canada who held a context for their design. A Gitxsan artist by the name of Timothy Foster created a heart with the figure of a parent and child. We remember those who attended residential schools. Those who survived and those who never made it home again. We remember because #everychildmatters

Today is Orange Shirt Day. By wearing an orange shirt and promoting the slogan, Every Child Matters, is an affirmation of our commitment to raise awareness of the residential school experience and to ensure that every child matters as we focus on our hope for a better future in which children are empowered to help each other. Please join all Bent Arrow staff, by sharing your photos on your social media. We would love to see your orange shirts. ... We’d like to acknowledge Staples for working with us this year to supply our staff with our Orange T’s and Hoodies. Here’s a write up from the artist of this years Orange Shirt My name is Timothy Foster and I am Gitxsan from the house of Niisto in the Lax Seel clan. I am honoured to have my design chosen for this orange shirt contest provided by Indigenous Printing and Office Solutions. This chosen design was actually a memorial piece I created not long ago in remembrance of my late wife and son who I lost in a span of 6 years. I thought it would be fitting to enter the design into the contest as my late wife and I both understood the importance of the orange shirt day and what it meant and how hard and difficult it is to change and rid our future generation of the vicious cycles residential schools created in our families. She also always had a dream of opening a food bank in our community to help others in hardship and having this design represent such an important cause I believe is very fitting as it will help bring awareness to every child matters, which she a had a deep and loving passion for, not only our children but for all families and their children as well. Thank you and please stay safe. #orangeshirtday #everychildmatters
