Dr. Hinshaw & Premier Jason Kenney, Friday afternoon asked that the whole province work together to try and reverse the spread of COVID-19 In response to the R...equest to work together. We have considered this & decided to cancel Our Community Remembrance Service 2020 Although Bentley is currently not at risk and we do not have any active cases of COVID-19, we as a community have always striven to go above and beyond for our residents. Our current brand as the ‘model town’, shows our strong commitment to do things that establish a high standard in our community and contribute to our province. As such I have decided not to host a gathering for Remembrance Day to ensure we continue this strong commitment of protecting our citizens and taking steps above and beyond the recommendations related to COVID-19. We know that any additional efforts that we make now, will ensure that we continue to keep our community safe and do more than our part to help flatten the curve and prevent the spread of COVID-19. On November 11, 2020 we will remember and honor those that have sacrificed for our home and our country. On Remembrance Day, I ask all of us take a moment out of our day in silence to reflect on the sacrifices of the many around the world that have enabled all of us to have the freedoms that we do & to be able to live in our great country & Province. There will be Remembrance Day Services on TV and there will be a Legion service online. legion.ca/remembrance/remembrance-day. JOIN US then LIVE Pastor Greg See more

Standing in our beautiful church alone. Janet and I find this almost unbelievable.!! we are so blessed with an amazing building built by pastor Bill & Patti Lew...is his staff and congregation back in early 80s. This congregation was started in 1929 and moved a few miles north into Bentley in 1931. Pastor Bills mom Maisy before bring Married to pastor Arden Lewis, helped to start the then Bentley Pentecostal Church. Looking back this congregation helped to start a number of Churches in Central Alberta. Mission work has be assisted across the NWT as well as Mexico and many people have gone into ministry across Canada and around the world. It is so sad to see a lively building sitting waiting till it can ring with songs and voices of hope again. IT WILL SOON!! Janet and I have now been pastoring here for 33 years. We love our church and community. We see it will flourish again soon! Meanwhile we pray, serve and bless people who have been pushed into fear, loneliness and frustration. As town Mayor I along with staff and council represent the hope for the future and the health of our community. Pastor Arden Lewis and pastor Harold Erickson were Mayors at one time as well. Prayer is part of the journey out of despair! Join with us and millions of people around the world with. Unite714.com. With the fear of Covid-19 people are being isolated . We are in a world with stress, hurts, pressures, disappointments, and problems, so sometimes it is just g...ood to find a friend to lean on. Lean on Me when youre not strong, Ill be your friend someone to lean on. It may surprise you who becomes someone we can lean on. With social media, snail-mail and the old faithful telephones we can allow people to lean on us. So many people have told me, When going through the toughest times so often people you have been there for and you feel will understand, have gone on and dont see or want to see what you are facing. This adds to the feelings they are struggling with. People said, Sometimes those who they had not even liked [because they never took time to know them] are the ones who show up and gave them strength. A cat rubbing the ear of a horse ... That IS the Point! That one can be the most unlikely. Psalm 38:11 (CEB) 11 My loved ones and friends keep their distance from me in my sickness; those who were near me now stay far away. The best thing we can do is to let the disappointments go and be thankful for the quiet strong one that surprises us to lean. There IS Hope and A Future as we have someone to lean on. March 26 2020 There IS Hope and a Bright Future when we offer hope and help. How was our day yesterday and how will today roll out before us? This picture from ...a site called Journey to Peace really points out some issues of life that matter more that happenings that take more of our time than they are worth. In a well spent, [invested] day we will find or make time for one of the thoughts in the picture. Have we made someone smile and laugh to chase away their sorrow? Have we made time to walk along someone carrying an overwhelming load so we could share the burden? Have we actually found words or actions sowing seeds of hope in someone who may be feeling overwhelmed? At the end of the day I wonder if someone might offer a prayer of thanks that we have been there for them today. An encouraging example to us of how we ought to be is in Hosea 11: 4 I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love. To them I was like one who lifts a little child to the cheek, and I bent down to feed them. Jeremiah 29:7 Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper." As we seek to bless others it will be a day well spent and There will be Hope and a Bright Future. Pastor Arthur Mcgregor Greg Rathjen. Please feel free to pass on any message I send out if it might encourage another person you know See more

March 24 2020. There Is Hope and a Brighter future as we see with Faith. Hebrews 11 says, (ERV) 1. Faith is what makes real the things we hope for. It is proo...f of what we cannot see. 2 God was pleased with the people who lived a long time ago because they had faith like this. 3 Faith helps us understand that God created the whole world by his command. This means that the things we see were made by something that cannot be seen. Sometimes all we can see, has to be a light in our heart. TODAY EVERYTHING SEEM VERY DARK... REMEMBER there is a candle light of Hope burning for you on the inside. As I write this message, If you need this word of Hope. Please receive this IT IS FOR YOU, from your loving FATHER. A MUST WATCH!!! HE KNOWS.

Bentley Community Church 09.03.2020

As I am laying in A HOSPITAL BED now 10 days. I watch the fear trying to take over the world I am so limited at what I can do to help as pastor for 33 years for... my congregation. I feel useless and frustrated that as Mayor of Bentley I have to miss planning helping meetings for our community & citizens. Then it came to me, for this short time I have been given the unexpected opportunity to focus on prayer. I even had to miss a funeral service I was to take yesterday. At four AM I am praying. Till they had to restrict a bit of action I have been so blessed to walk the Halls of the Hospital praying over every ward and everyone. They cant have Chapel services now here but I can sit in the chapel and pray. I have been honoured to encourage many people, at a distance with hope. I talk to ever hospital employee possible to thank them for their dedication, serving people TO HEALTH. They are not only facing the crisis but are here serving. I decided to me the cross logo of Alberta Health means hope, healing and life not fear panic and death. I walk with my tree on wheels. I am a Holy Roller. We need hope both in and out of the hospital, so I can pray. I have been given this down time to focus UP TIME! This is the third time our medical dedication has brought me back from deaths door!!! I am now recovering & hoping to be home in a couple days! They have stopped the bleeding ulcers (I didnt even know I had) that caused me to need 10 units of blood. I feel blessed even in having room mates battling for hope that I can lay in bed and thankful for prayer for. The word of God says Fear NOT FOR I AM WITH YOU. Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; Please receive words of hope today from my journey in hope. I wish I could learn to quit looking for (toilet paper deals ). Humour and focus more on prayer. The day before I started to bleed out, I preached a message on our Hope We are on in the Spirit You can watch it on (YOUTUBE REVGREGAM. Pastor Greg Rathjen). https://youtu.be/hUehKu8o9Ac This is the time to act in wisdom and to be looking up. Please be praying with us for our leaders. Love and thank you to all who have been praying for Janet and myself. Pastor Greg
