Some people come to us feeling overwhelmed about the idea of loose tea. It seems so complicated when you dont have your system. There are many ways to prep your cup of loose tea. What is your way? Mine is a stainless steel strainer. I love that it fits in my pot on in any mug.

After some work done in our kitchen, we have now a professional dishwasher. What an appreciated change for our employees that were team players until now and have washed every single dish by hand. Thanks to "Seeding Our Food Future" program we were able to make that investment. It will save so much water. It will also free up some time for our employee to focus on more productive tasks, an important step on our journey towards a living wage. It always feels like Christmas when we receive a DONATION of Bone China tea cups. Often our customers have cups they are not using and are happy to bring it to us knowing we will give those a good life! We met Sheri that started her company @lauraraescaramel this year. She handcrafts small batches of salted caramel in Elora.... This is wonderful news to share with you. Many have been enquiring about this tiny being we were waiting for. Please meet Selah (SAY-la) Grace Hunt. She was born on July 9th 2020. She is a precious little girl very loved by her parents and everyone that have met her since. Selah, Richelle and Scott are settling down at home and are doing well. Welcome to you, cutest Selah!

3 generations of women coming regularly to our shop, Olive, Barbara and Caitlin. Such kind souls, always such a pleasure to see them. We were verry happy to be able to provide sweets and treats for Olives 95th birthday. Arent they gorgeous with their hats?

July 14th is Frances National Holiday. Happy Bastille Day. We commemorate when Revolionnary took over a prison in Paris. It is considerate as a major act in French Revolution. It also showed the disconnect between the people and the King as in his daily log was written that there was ``Nothing to report`` that day. It was our little piece of History of the day. Bonne Fte Nationale!

The comfort that a warm blueberry lemon scone just out of the oven can bring! Sigh

This is our Lemon Garden Rooibos. If you like lemon, it doesnt get better than that, especially with lemon peel and lemon grass in it. It makes a sublime iced tea. Rooibos tea is also known as red tea or red bush tea. It is made using leaves from a shrub called Aspalathus linearis. It is usually grown on the western coast of South Africa. Today we received a very generous message from @goketocanada We are sad to say good bye to this sweet shop downtown Fergus. We are however happy that they thought of us to give some goods they still had. Those are some of the products that were donated to us, we will give them a good life. Thank you GoKeto and Marcie!!!

With this heat, it is important to stay hydrated! Our way to do it is iced tea, and we are always impressed to discover how good every tea that we have turns out when iced. I bet you would find your ideal version amongst our 200 teas! Lauries favourite at the moment? Coconut vanilla white tea, she feels it is so thirst quenching.

Some days are interesting like this. Today 3 persons in a row pushed the door asking for Lapsang Souchong. We have more than 200 types of tea, so that kind of coincidence is always funny, especially if it is Lapsang. For those who have not encountered that tea before, a very small percent of the population likes it. The best way to describe it is : a campfire in a cup. It is a very smokey black tea. Personally I love it, and there is no in between either you love or you hate ...it. If you have a whiskey lover friend, that might be the perfect gift for them. What is a Cannel ? This pastry is a traditionnal dessert from Bordeaux - France. It is a batter with vanilla, milk, lots of eggs, touch of flour and sugar that bakes for a loooong time. The texture is amazing, a nice caramely crust outside, chewy inside. The caramelly, vanilly flavour will get you. I especially enjoy that it is not very sweet. You might want to give it a try next time you are in.
