BHF Garlic Plant 2020 underway. A bit earlier this year (usually we wait til October to reduce excess weed growth over the growing season). But... Our first big B.C.Elninio rain dump starts tomorrow. Who knows when it will end and weather (so to speak) we’ll ever be able to get back on the fields without sinking. ... It’s now a race against time to get the garlic in and covered for winter.

What to do with unpretty garlic bulbs?? Sometimes bulbs are ugly. But, if you take the time to peel them back.... BINGO.... the pearl appears! This year we’ve had some really amazing cloves in some not-so-pretty bulbs (thank you May-June torrential rains ). ... Too good to waste, peel and can them in vinegar.
