Best Scones Ever

Good Morning scone lovers, I hope you had a great weekend! I start this week’s email/post with some news! As you all know I bake my scones from my seasonal store known as The Country Christmas Store. It has been running successfully for over 8 years now, it only runs 7 weekends leading up to Christmas. I have been in talks with my business partner, my Public Health Inspector along with our local By-Law Officer to determine whether we would open and at this time we have... decided to move forward with opening as scheduled with the obvious changes needed due to COVID-19 to keep us all safe. But given the times we are it could still possibly not run and if that is the case I will resort to our normal schedule. So with that said this will be my last week for a few weeks that I will have scones available for curb side pickup and delivery as I have to dedicate my time for the store’s set up and necessary changes. I will have my scones available for curb side pickup when our store is open on November 5th. It will work exactly the same way, I’ll email/post all the available goodies which will not only include my yummy scones, but also a lot of other treats we make this time of year like shortbread and a range of other cakes, jams and my delicious homemade soup! And so much more. We will set up a contact free pick up if that is what you prefer but the bonus is that they will be available Thursday thru Sunday. So ... as this week is the last week for 4 weeks ... fill your boots and order what you want, I’m open to making everyone’s favourite, along with whatever quantity you want as they freeze well if you wanted to order enough that will tide you over to we get back on to a weekly pick up. If you don’t see your favourite listed please let me know ... I promise I’ll make all your requests this week I continue to have a selection of jalapeño and VQA Jellies to my inventory (list attached) they are made by Sweet or Spicey Pleasures. All can be served with my delicious scones or with cheese and crackers, and can also be used as a meat glaze. These are made local, by a friend, and have been sold along with my scones at the The Country Christmas Store and the St Catharine’s Farmers market for many years. If you haven’t tried them yet, they are a must!! I will have curb side pickups available for Thursday and Friday between 9:00am to 6:00pm and delivery available on Saturday mornings only between 7:00am to 10:00am, on minimum orders of $25 or more and must be located in the Niagara Region (Excludes Fort Erie, Sorry just to far for me). Pumpkin with a Spiced Glaze Extra Old Cheddar with Chives Limited Supply of my Homemade Clotted Cream & Homemade Cherry Jam Perfect accompaniment or scones (Limited Supply) If you’ve never had it, it is a very thick rich spreadable form of heavy cream that was first invented ages ago by some very smart British farmers. It’s not like whipped cream, or cream cheese, it’s not like butter It has a unique decadent consistency and a wonderful soft flavour. It’s quite thick and spreadable, and when you slather it on a freshly baked scone there is no better thing in the world. If you don’t see the variety you were hoping for let me know and if I have the ingredients in stock I would be happy to make them for you. Good Morning Scone Lovers, Message to all customers on my mailing list with a cogeco email address. Just didn’t want you to think I haven’t actioned your request to receive the bake list. Over the last 2 weeks when sending my bake list to you from my [email protected] they are bouncing back ... it would seem all the "Cogeco" email addresses on my contact list have done so! It says there is a technical issue because it believes it has "spam like" content. ... If you wish to remain on the list could you add the [email protected] to your contacts and mark it as not spam, and then send me an email and i will send you this week's list back.
