Meet Chantal, Health, Safety & Environmental Officer at London International I’ve always wanted to work at an airport because I love that an airport is like ...a 4 dimensional puzzle made up of time, space, human factors, and finance. The best, but also the most challenging part of my job, is that it’s ever changing because the tasks that airport employees often do are not the same day-to-day so as their tasks change, so do risks. Because of this, it’s crucial that I adapt to changes quickly to stay on top of things. There are several layers of defenses against failure in an organization. Accidents in aviation rarely happen due to a single event, it usually is a chain of errors. For this reason, it is important that all employees work with a strong sense of responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others. A little fun fact about me is that in my spare time, I love to dance Kizomba and UrbanKiz. Kizomba is one of my favourites because it’s one of the few duo dance styles that doesn’t have a fixed step count so you have to really be in sync with your dance partner and follow their lead. #LifeatYXU See more
