The Mombasa Mission welcomed the Kingham family back from the UK in August. Everyone was happy to see them, and meet the new addition, Nathan. Sam Kingham is by 'trade' a paramedic, so he is often busy assessing ill or injured people. Because a paramedic is not fully recognized by Kenyan authority, the ability to administer full medical care is not permitted at this time at the mission. With grateful thanks to donations received, a generator storehouse has been built at the mission. To see how the generator was put in, you might want to watch the link below. It is very worth your while to watch. This video also gives a good picture of what Mombasa is all about. https://youtu.be/fYVDckH8wl8
Despite our page being quiet, life around us has not! Nor has it been quiet in the various organizations we support! In June, we received an appeal from the Free Grace Evangelistic Association. Pastors and families in various parts of the world supported by FGEA, and the 2 orphanages, were facing severe food shortages. Through a generous donation, we were able to help along with this cause, for which we are thankful. The restrictions that we face may be inconvenient, but we must be truthful and say that they have not become a matter of life or death for us as in other countries. If your heart is inclined to support this cause, please visit the link below. Your donations are greatly appreciated. https://www.icmsgo.com/qry/sd_donate.taf
Savannah Education Trust Fund. . . School is back in session for the JHS's last year classes in the district of Lawra. Students hope to complete exams in September, three months later than other years. We wish them well!
Spotlight on: Free Grace Evangelistic Association The FGEA was formed by God’s grace in 2010, arising through the foreign visits of Dr. Ian Sadler of the UK. Very significant openings have arisen in Africa for distribution of Bibles and sound spiritual literature. Despite many thousands of Bibles, New Testaments, Scripture Calendars, books and booklets distributed through FGEA , the unfunded openings for further distribution are still growing. In addition to Bible and literature distribution, approximately 90 orphans are supported through FGEA in Africa (Eastern Congo) and Asia. A school for very poor children in Eastern Congo has also been built next to the orphanage. The pictures below were taken during Bible distribution in English speaking Cameroon.
Spotlight on--MOMBASA MISSION Mombasa Mission is located in Eastern Kenya. With the Lord's help and guidance, the Gudgeon and Kingham families fulfill the following statement: ‘’To relieve poverty and advance the Christian religion amongst the people of East Africa particularly, though not exclusively, through the provision of churches, child rescue homes, medical centres and schools, and through the translation and distribution of Christian literature.’’ The Gudgeon family ...moved to Kenya in 2014, and the Kinghams in 2018. The latest construction at the mission station is the mission house for the Gudgeon family. Having the house completed, allows for more teaching space at the main mission building (Sunday School classes, Bible Study and so on), an administration centre for receiving guests that need assistance or any type of aid, medical attention, etc. Below are a few pictures of the development of the house.
