Good snowy Friday to everyone! It has been 24 hours of Covid related news, the first that March Break with now be an April Break from April 12 - 16. The second that Halton will move into the Red Zone on Tuesday February 16th. This is the level we were on prior to the Emergency Lockdown for the past 5 weeks. No more than 5 people in a house or 10 people outdoors with appropriate physical distancing. Masks are highly recommended for both. Here are today's Halton Covid cases plus an extra - how many vaccines have been administered in Halton. This will be published on the Halton.ca website each Friday and will include the numbers of vaccinations administered in the previous week, ending on the Thursday. https://www.halton.ca//D/New-Coronavirus/COVID-19-Vaccines
She had to wait for 2 extra weeks for her second dose of Pfizer vaccine but my Halton EMS daughter is officially vaccinated!
Here are the Halton Covid numbers for February 10th. Our testing may be down some but perhaps that is in direct correlation to the lower numbers and less community spread. Sure hope so!
Today's Halton Covid Update. Good to know that the vaccination program has begun for Halton heath care workers.
Update on Outdoor Rinks! Coronation Park is now open!
Halton Covid Report for January 4th. Not as rosy as yesterday's. So, keep staying home because there are more infectious people out there, and more to come. To all the home schooling families for this week or if in high school, for the next 3 weeks, sending you positive vibes!
Halton Covid Update for January 3rd. Sorry I didn't report yesterday! Numbers don't look so bad...but Jan. 4th is about to come.
January 2, 2021 Halton Covid Update. This is 2 days of numbers - but still represents our highest number of cases yet. If you're like me, you go straight to the municipalities and pat Oakville on the back for being the third lowest in numbers...but the true test comes from a seven day average. A single day doesn't give a true picture. But I also say, You Got This, Oakville. Let's keep our number count down! Stay home. Wear your masks. Wash your hands. Physical distance when you must be out. And share our support to those who have lost a loved one to Covid or any other reason in this time of uncertainty.
I just participated in the Lighthouse for Grieving Children's Virtual Breakfast. This amazing community program is located at Bronte and Rebecca St. in Ward One and while the pandemic has changed its ability to welcome children and their families into the physical building, it is still doing its programs virtually and needs our support. Consider a donation as a Christmas gift to someone you can't see this year and still want to honour. I will be doing one as gifts for my sister and brother. https://www.grievingchildrenlighthouse.org/index.php
Happy Diwali and Bandi Chorr Divas to our Hindu, Sikh, Jain and Buddhist residents. Thank you for your many contributions to make life better for everyone in Oakville. May this celebration see brighter days ahead! Please remember to enjoy celebrations responsibly, with members of your own household. #BeSafe and #StayStrong
We remember the thousands of Canadian veterans who fought that we might enjoy the life and democracy that we have now. Thank you. #remembranceday2020 I was honoured to be part of the Bronte Legion Chris Vokes Branch 486 celebration on Sunday November 8th.
I love to colour! And age is just a relative thing, right Santa Claus?! Hope lots of you enjoy colouring and submitting your creation!
The Jolly HoHo wants to know if you have any questions and guarantees that no pandemic will stop the sleigh and reindeer from getting to Oakville!
My father-in-law is living with dementia and we are lucky that the farthest he has wandered is to my house (he and my mother-in-law live right beside me). However, should this become a concern, I'm very glad this HRPS program exists.
