July 1st is tomorrow and it’s important to remember Canada's sometimes appalling history. Today we received a book by Karen Chaboyer, originally from Rainy River First Nations. In her book, "They Called me 33: Reclaiming Ingo-Waabigwan", she writes about her experience at St. Margaret Indian Residential School, the effects it had on herself and her family and how she discovered the healing power of sharing her story.

With Canada Day coming up, we’ll be taking a couple of extra days off for a little rest and recovery! Betty’s will be closed from July 1st until Monday, July 6th. Be sure to come by Monday or Tuesday if there is anything you need; we are open 10-4 for walk in shopping and curbside pick up. We hope you all have a safe and fun Canada Day!
