Recently, a diorama project was part of a grade 8 geography unit on Indigenous peoples. Groups spent about 2 weeks working on it. After learning about Quebec's different Indigenous groups, students picked one group to focus on. They had to create a diorama depicting their Indigenous group's natural environment, as well as a fact sheet with information about the group's traditional lifestyle in this environment. Projects culminated with students "interviewing" all of their classmates about their projects, as well as presenting their dioramas to several adults in the building during a gallery walk this past Friday. Congratulations to everyone involved!

Through a lot of research and then practice, students took part in a cookie baking competition which cumulated in a presentation of their research, their reasoning and their final masterpiece to a panel of judges. A winner was declared, but the competitive spirit is still high. Stay tuned for a different competition in the new year! Amazing work by all involved!
