Sharon wrote a review of her visit to my cottage. Txs Sharon. "Great visit to Beverly’s property. She had all we needed. The space was great and lovely to be on the lake. We enjoyed the home, the fire pit and the lake including the boats. Such a nice few days of getaway." Posted: September 7, 2020
I got a nice review today and I wanted to share it. Thanks, Mitzy. Beverly was a wonderful hostess. She was very helpful, answered all our questions promptly and provided handfuls of information about her cottage and surroundings. Her cottage is very cosy and comfortable. Has everything you need, including peanuts to feed the very hungry chipmunks! A pool and basketball and tennis court are within a walking distance, as well and a gym and playground for the children. Beach area is quite small, however, canoe and paddleboats are available if you are not a swimmer. A quiet and family-friendly community with beautiful views of the lake! Frank submitted a short but sweet review. The place was great. Just as described. Would go back for sure Date of arrival - August 17, 2020
I got a nice 5-star review from Danielle that I wanted to share. Beverly was an amazing host and took the time to walk us through the property when we arrived so that we knew exactly where everything was. Check-in was very easy. The cottage was clean and the kitchen was well equipped with everything you may need. She also provided chairs for the campfire, life jackets, fishing rods, and floaties for the pool. The kids loved the resort, the pool was very clean and not busy. The also loved having the free use of the canoes and kayaks. Would definitely recommend!! Date of arrival - August 24, 2020
I've received a review today that I wanted to share for anyone interested in renting my cottage. Beverly’s Cottage is the perfect getaway! The outside is serene and relaxing with a view of the lake and trees. The inside is spacious, clean and has all the amenities! Beverly is wonderful and amazing to deal with. Not only is she responsive, she cares that you have a great time. Not only did she provide a list of things to do, she also provided a list of what to bring! She has put a lot of thought and effort into ensuring her guests have a great time which is greatly appreciated! Thank you Beverly!
Lang Pioneer Village adapts Fall events to COVID-19. https://www.langpioneervillage.ca/ Lang Pioneer Village is offering a series of fall tours in September and October, all designed for safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.... The first seasonal tour at the museum, located just north of Keene in Otonabee-South Monaghan Township, will be a new, guided version of the Village by Lantern Light event. Groups of people will be able to tour the village in the evening, by the glow of lantern lights, with a costumed interpreter to guide the way. The idea will be to pre-book so groups of guests can receive a guided tour with timed entry (to allow for physical distancing with other groups). A tour of up to nine people from the same family or social circle is $40. The Village by Lantern Light events will take place on the evenings of Sept. 11, 12, 17 and 18. In place of the popular Applefest event, the museum is offering a drive-thru tour called Harvest Time in the Village. Visitors will arrive in their owns cars and drive slowly through the village to see what pioneer life looked like at harvest time.
Great news!! Our local farm, Indian River Acres is now open for online ordering as well as walk-up veggie stand sales. To get there exit the resort on Villiers Line. Stay on this road and cross over Highway 7. It is a minute drive past the highway. It should take you 15 minutes to get there. I ordered through their new eCommerce portal and it works just fine. You can check out the web site at https://indianriveracres.ca/
I'm feeding a cute chimpunk this year. It's fun to watch him stuff his cheeks.

Some days the main air conditioner can’t keep the main areas cool enough. This video demonstrates on how to set up the portable air conditioner in the living room. Remember to close the pocket door that's near the bedrooms to keep the cool air in the living room area.
Sometimes it's just too hot in the cottage to sleep. This air con will help cool down the two bedrooms.
